This year’s fair will also introduce its first-ever Curator of Special Projects who is set to organize Felix LA’s projects and presentations across the hotel’s grounds. Though the person behind the role has not yet been revealed, founders Dean Valentine, Millis, and Al Morán assert that the curation will explore themes of queerness, femininity, and identity.
“Young artists chatted with famous dealers; people looked at each other’s work; older artists brought students around. Sentimental educations were in the offing. This is what art fairs ought to be,” said renowned art critic Jerry Saltz to New York Magazine in regards to the fair’s first edition.
