Mattel and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld have partnered to create a limited edition Lagerfeld Barbie doll, available this autumn. Drawing inspiration from the designer’s signature style, the Barbie wears a black tailored jacket, white high-collared men’s shirt with French cuffs and black satin cravat finished off with fitted black jeans.“It’s not everyday that Barbie dresses like the world’s most famous fashion designer,” stated Kim Culmone, global vice president of Barbie product design.
The limited-edition Karl Lagerfeld Barbie Doll will be released under the Barbie Collector label, with additional retail information to be released at a later date.
Meanwhile, Karl’s pet cat, Choupette, was recently announced as the face of a Shu Uemura cosmetics campaign.
