Exclusive Video Premiere: San E, KRS-One & A Team of International Rappers Declare '#HipHopIsHipHop'
‘I always wanted to let everybody know hip-hop is worldwide,’ says Korean hitmaker San E.
Last week, Billboard announced 14 international rapper’s ambitious plan to release a charity single together. Throwing away the barriers of race, culture, language and sex, the collective known as Hip Hop for the World recorded a global anthem, “#HIPHOPISHIPHOP.”

Hip Hop for the World includes talent from four continents and is led by South Korean rapper San E, known for his K-Pop Hot 100 hits like “Break-Up Dinner,” “A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness” and “Body Language.”
“‘#HIPHOPISHIPHOP’ is my high school dream,” he tells Billboard. “As an immigrant, if I let my friends listen to Korean hip-hop music, they’d be like, ‘They can rap in Korean?’ I always wanted to let everybody know hip-hop is worldwide; it can be rap in all different languages you never heard. It took awhile to make it really happen, now here it is.”

Alongside San E is U.S. MC/producer KRS-One, who’s earned a trio of entries on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit rap albums since the ’90s, plus acclaimed Finland rapper Redrama, Bosnia’s Frenkie, Bangladesh’s SadmAnn, Egypt’s Deeb, India’s Adx, Indonesia’s Yacko, Italy’s Strike the Head, Japan’s Julian Nagano, Portugal’s Valete, Singapore’s Pendekar, Taiwan’s Mr. Skin and Wales’ Mr Phormula.
Inspired by “We Are the World,” the all-star charity single released both in 1985 and 2010, all proceeds from “#HIPHOPISHIPHOP” will be donated to children’s education via UNICEF.
Hip-hop heavyweights like DJ Premier, Rook of J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Don Cannon and more notable rap voices have offered their support to the global anthem.

This morning we had a legend in the building. Dame Dash. Formerly Jay-Z’s manager and business partner at Roc-a-Fella Records, heavy-hitter entrepreneur and fearless businessman.

The Pebble Time has now superseded the Coolest Cooler to become the most funded project in Kickstarter history, raising more than $14.5 million and counting with 24 days left until the campaign comes to a halt. New contributors to the project were likely instigated by the smart watchmaker’s announcement that a new version of the Pebble Time will come in a steel edition – called the Pebble Time Steel – which boasts a 10-day battery life, stainless steel face, scratch-proof lens and support for premium leather and stainless steel watchbands with sensors built into them.

Additionally, each Pebble Time features a new color e-paper display and microphone for responding to notifications. Even with the new technology the brand has been able to maintain water resistance so you can still swim or surf while wearing it, although they don’t recommend submerging the smartwatch.
