Nike Creates A Custom "Cooling Head" for Ashton Eaton
Unlike a specialized sport icon, Olympic champion decathlete Ashton Eaton has a variety of needs after an event. According to him though, the most necessary, immediate accommodation is also a pretty simple desire: he wants to douse himself with cool water. To that, Nike has answered (complexly, of course) with a prototype that draws inspiration from long-running ice hat designs. The Cooling Head is engineered with small veins that hold cold water close to the contours of the athlete’s face – offering an immediate cooling sensation from the top down. The Cooling Head will be tested by Ashton Eaton during his summer training sessions, as well as his wife and fellow Olympian Brianne Thiesen-Eaton. If Eaton’s trials prove successful, can you see integrating this one into your workout?

UPDATE: Drake x Air Jordan 10 Retro "OVO" Set for Official Retail Release
A retail release for Jordan Brand’s collaboration with Drake’s OVO record label and imprint looks set for Fall/Winter 2015 retail release. Following a Quickstrike release at an OVO pop-up earlier in the year, a sneak peek at the packaging for the collaborative footwear has been leaked thanks to @thekid_dex . Set for a white/gold colorway and to be priced at $225 USD, Drizzy’s Air Jordan 10 retros are certain to build a buzz whenever they eventually drop and will act as a fitting retort to adidas’s acquisition and utilization of Kanye West.
Converse CT Shroud Hi Pack
Shortly after introducing the tech-infused All Star Chuck Taylor II, Converse unveils a modern reinterpretation of its iconic silhouette. The classic high-top’s canvas upper has been wrapped with a tonal zip-up leather shell, leaving a minimal, monotone design. Converse’s patch logo is stitched onto the side while the signature flat rubber sole finishes off the eye-catching rendering. Available in a trio of colorways, the Converse CT Shroud Hi Pack is priced at €99 EUR (approximately $109 USD), and can be purchased from select retailers including sivasdescalzo.
New Balance ML1980 "Sweatshirt"
With one part of the renaissance complete, now New Balance is poised to release new silhouettes and further assert its own vision for the amalgamation of street and performance wear. One of the most exemplary models there is the ML 1980, which has recently been tweaked with classic cozy lightweight jersey for the season. Accordingly, the “Sweatshirt” iteration was born: imbued with grey feather jersey throughout the toecap and complimented in your choice of burgundy, black, navy or grey. While the upper features tech-y edges like reflective overlays and engineered mesh towards the heel, the sole unit is comprised of a singular cut of Fresh Foam – New Balance’s proprietary running-spec cushioning system. Pick up this version of the sneaker at retailers such as SNKRS now.
