Iconic editorial photographer Mark Seliger is teaming up with Christie’s on a new advocacy campaign called RADArt4AID. The initiative includes a global auction of Seliger’s renowned celebrity portraits with all sales proceeds to benefit multiple COVID-19 relief organizations.
Seliger donated a total of 25 limited edition photography prints featuring some of his favorite subjects from the past 30 years. The celebrities featured in these images include Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kurt Cobain, Kurt Cobain, Leonardo DiCaprio, Billie Eilish, Tom Hanks, and more.
“Art and creativity as a source of love, introspection, and joy have persevered through every tragedy we’ve faced together, and I trust they will continue to inspire us as we work through this pandemic. Thank you to everyone who contributes to making this auction a success; in doing so, you will have a significant impact in helping those in need,” said Seliger in a statement.
Selected charities to receive proceeds from the portrait sales include America’s Food Fund, American Red Cross, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund, and more. The sale will take place on Christie’s online auction platform from May 28 to June 12.
