JAY-Z has been spotted wearing everything from Audemars Piguet to Hublot over the years, but opted for a dressy pink gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso for his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
He became the first living solo rapper to earn his place in the Hall of Fame at the weekend at the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland.
The 23-time Grammy winner strapped on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s iconic rectangular dress watch, a Grand Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 edition, engraved on the reverse with an image of famous New York music venue, Carnegie Hall.
JAY-Z debuted the watch during his two-night performance at Carnegie Hall back in July, when he became only the second hip hop act to take to its stage. According to Hodinkee, Jay alternated between an Audemars Piguet Jules Piguet Tourbillon Chronograph, the Jaeger-LeCoultre and a Rolex Day-Date II on stage.
The Reverso was introduced by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1931 as an early sports watch, designed to be flipped over to protect its dial during games of poloDrake has taken to his Instagram to show off yet another multi-million dollar timepiece.
This year, the Toronto rapper has been incredibly successful with the release of the chart-topping album, Certified Lover Boy. When it comes to extravagant gifts for others or himself, the rapper is not one to shy away from expensive watches. Earlier this year, Drizzy gifted Future and Young Thug both custom Richard Mille watch for their respective birthdays. Some even speculated that the yellow-banded Richard Mille that Lil Durk received for his 29th birthday may have also come from The Boy himself.
Custom Richard Milles has become a norm for gifts amongst the hip-hop world, with artists like JAY-Z, MoneyBagg Yo, Offset and Nicki Minaj either receiving or giving away these luxury wrist pieces. After his 35th birthday bash, Drake took to Instagram to show off a new Richard Mille RM 56-02 Tourbillon with the caption “Easy Money Year,” perhaps giving a nod to Kevin Durant’s Instagram handle, “EasyMoneySniper.” The watch is reportedly worth $2.2 million USD and is displayed in a transparent sapphire case featuring navy-blue accents to show off the details of the watch. The RM 56-02 also includes a cable-suspension system. Only 10 of these watches are being made, with all 10 already sold.

Keanu Reeves has just given fans another reason to like him as it has just been revealed that he generously gave Rolex Submariner watches to his stunt team.
A gesture that’s happened in the past, like with the wrapping of Russell Crowe’s Cinderella Man, these watches were given to the members to celebrate the final days of production for John Wick 4.
The Rolex Submariner Date ref. 126610LN retails for around $9,500 USD but due to scarcity, this model has been trading closer to the $16,000 USD mark. Gifted to Jeremy Marinas, Li Qiang, Bruce Lee Concepcion, and Dave Camarillo, the watches all see “THE JOHN WICK FIVE” engraved at the back along with their name, year, and a “Thank You” from Keanu.
Check out the watches below as well as a fan spy shot of Keanu as he celebrates with his team in Paris.
Golden Boy is a clock – which can be mounted on a wall or sit on a mantelpiece or desk with its custom stand – in the shape of the famed Winchester repeating rifle, which is even wound using the same iconic lever action as the rifle rather than a key, with 15 actions of the lever needed to fully wind the eight-day movement.
The Unnamed Society, a group of collectors and enthusiasts, cornered the market for clocks in the shape of firearms when it dropped its debut “Pistol” in 2019, an eight-day clock in the form of Pancho Villa’s Bisley Colt pistol.
The new clock replicates the “Gun that Won the West” with 1:1 scale dimensions of 41ins long and 12lbs in weight, with special attention paid to the “feel and heft” of the original weapon.
“Golden Boy is our second project with The Unnamed Society and a natural continuation of the Pancho Villa’s Bisley Colt we created together,” says Arnaud Nicolas, CEO of L’Épée. “Bolting a clock to a gun was never an option, so rethinking the original rifle’s ingenious lever action mechanism as a clock calibre seemed like an irresistible challenge. It wasn’t. The result is a work of engineering that transcends its function into a work of art, true to the DNA of The Unnamed Society.”
