Jon Buscemi Previews BUSCEMI Leather Slippers / Montblanc Launches the Timewalker Urban Speed e-Strap

The slipper movement – if we’ll call it that – from last summer seems to continue its stroll into the new year, with Jon Buscemi‘s eponymous luxury footwear brand introducing a neat silhouette for 2015. The creative took to Instagram to preview a forthcoming flip-flop from BUSCEMI, marking a relaxed departure from the brand’s penchant for complex lines and panel structures. Still, the BUSCEMI Leather Slippers are tastefully executed with luxurious pebbled leather through the articulated sole and forefoot strap. The top portion is detailed with the brand logo at the center, printed in gold foil. Those curious to experiment with new stylings should look for these to drop in the coming (hopefully warmer) months.

After becoming a significant talking point in 2014, wearable tech is preparing itself for another huge year of innovative releases and new entrants into the market. Montblanc throws its hat into the market as the first such luxury brand to do so with the unveiling of the Timewalker Urban Speed e-Strap. The NATO-style strap accessory is meant to be an accompaniment to pre-existing analog watches (provided the straps measure in at either 20mm or 22mm), meaning users need not sacrifice styling or a favorite timepiece to reap the benefits of wearable tech. The Timewalker Urban Speed e-Strap syncs with both Android and iOS platforms and allows the user to receive notifications from emails, read texts, measure activity, serve as a remote-control for smartphones, controlling music and finally a “Find Me” function to ensure that you’ll always find your watch or phone within a 30 meter radius. The strap will be available through three new Timewalker watches or separately as a strap for the price of €350 EUR (approximately $423 USD).

Additional details include a lightweight Vibram® Vi-Lite Gloxy Cut sole allowing for a more natural ride, anodized eyelets, and your choice of waxed or leather laces. The Cypress x Viberg Rubberized Scout Boot can be purchased through HAVEN in limited quantities for $705 USD.

Ravens security director charged with sex offense

The Baltimore Ravens’ top security guy has been charged with a sex offense that allegedly occurred December 14, online court records reveal.
The senior security director for the NFL team, Darren Sanders, was charged with a fourth-degree sex offense which is “not considered a sexually violent offense but sexual contact without consent of victim,” according to the Maryland Attorney General’s office definition.
The record did not go into details about the charges but the address listed for the defendant is that of the team’s headquarters in Owings Mills, Maryland.
CNN was unable to reach Sanders’ lawyer. But the lawyer, Andrew Alperstein, told the Baltimore Sun the charges were “totally fabricated.”
Earlier this year, Sanders was mired in the infamous Ray Rice elevator beating scandal in which the football player was investigated for hitting his then-fiancée in an elevator of a New Jersey casino.
Sanders played a role in explaining how he, on the team’s behalf, requested the casino’s video footage of Janay Palmer being beaten in the elevator.
He said the casino officer would only describe the video to him, and he relayed the information to Ravens executives.
Sanders was publicly scrutinized for his lack of investigative effort when the media outlet, TMZ, obtained and released the video footage.
Sanders’ court date is scheduled for February 9 in Maryland.
