Founded by Hirofumi Kiyonaga, SOPHNET incorporates three different brands: the mainline SOPHNET alongside two subbrands F.C. Real Bristol (FCRB) and Uniform Experiment.
SOPHNET was introduced as a halfway point between the many streetwear brands in Tokyo popping up during the late 90s and older, more established Japanese fashion brands. The most recognisable garments from the mainline tend to lie on the border somewhere between casual and formal. In past seasons, two items that have really stood out due to the frequency they have been designed are blazers and plaid shirts. It’s a brand renowned for its liberal usage of bright patterning across patches, stripes, floral patterns and other vibrant accents. In terms of colour usage, the brand is known for use of blues and greens.

RVCA x The Seventh Letter Pop-Up Exhibition @ POW WOW Hawai’i 2014

Longstanding friends and collaborators RVCA and The Seventh Letter recently joined forces at POW WOW 2014 for a pop-up exhibition. Aptly dubbed “Honolulu 014,” the exhibition was a last-minute addition to this year’s lineup and featured pieces from veteran graffiti artists of MSK and AWR crews, alongside artists under The Seventh Letter community and participants of this year’s POW WOW. Aside from visually-stimulating paintings from the likes of Risk, Pose, Dabs Myla, Aaron De La Cruz, Haze and Barry McGee, street culture photographers Martha Cooper, Willie T and Estevan Oriol also contributed striking imagery to the show. Spread over two rooms, the exhibition carries out the creative spirit of POW WOW and is now open to those in the Kaka’ako area.
