UPDATE (4/14/21): Jerry Lorenzo has confirmed to HYPEBEAST that the backless sneaker seen in his Instagram posts isn’t part of his adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE -1.02%)collection but is actually a forthcoming Fear of God mule shoe.
ORIGINAL STORY (4/13/21): Looking to kick off Fear of God‘s highly-anticipated partnership with adidas, Jerry Lorenzo recently teased the first sneaker model from the collaboration. Taking to Instagram, the celebrated designer posted a series of images taken by Lane Stewart who is documenting the process behind designing the team-up.
Aside from sporting a bright yellow adidas windbreaker, Lorenzo shared that he is currently testing the FoG x adidas Backless Slip-On at the adidas Portland Oregon Headquarters. The simple lounging style sports a clean one-piece design that comes in off white with minimal contrasting black details on the heel regions. Although not much more is known about the footwear style, Lorenzo did note that he is focussing on putting his mark on adidas Basketball.

According to new info, the latest in Nike‘s ongoing partnership with La Flame will feature five colorway takes on the classic sneaker model. Mock-ups are now noting “Baroque Brown/Lemon Drop/Wheat/Chile Red,” “Off Noir/Cave Stone/Dusty Sage/Celadon,” “Saturn Gold/Tea Tree Mist/Tent” and “Grey Haze/Light Silver/Celadon/Canvas” takes. Detailing is expected to come in the form of Travis’ signature reverse Swoosh at the midfoot regions and Cactus Jack branding on the tongues and heels.
Reportedly priced at $160 USD, the rumored range of Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 “Cactus Jack” sneakers is now expected to release sometime this holiday season.
Coming in tonal “Black” and “White,” the latest in the duo’s collaborative relationship reimagines the retro mid-top model debuted in 1993. Maintaining the signature elements of the shoe, the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS rework is centered around an understated appeal defined by a mesh, neoprene and matching leather construction. Detailing comes in the form of a “NIKE” branded strap, adjustable strap, contrast COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS printing at the rear and printed insoles. Elevating the shoe is a traction focussed sculpted cross-training sole unit.
Priced at $350 USD, the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Carnivore is available now at Dover Street Market Ginza.
Dutch artist Piet Parra and Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.93%) have a long working relationship that stretches all the way back to the ’00s. Though the early days of the partnership were mostly centered around Nike Sportswear product like the legendary Patta x Parra x Nike Air Max 1 “Cherrywood,” Parra has recently worked with Nike SB on a SB Dunk Low, a SB Blazer Low and even skateboarding uniforms for the Olympic Games. Now, he’s continuing his partnership with the Swoosh’s skate subdivision by way of a new take on the low-cut SB Dunk.First teased by Parra himself back in March, the fresh style is centered around the artist’s signature abstract shapes, done up in his recognizable blue and red palette. These colorful patterns appear on the mudguard, eyestays, heel, heel tab and tongue trim, and are accented by tan nubuck on the toebox, quarters and collar.
From a branding standpoint, the SB Dunk Low’s normal quarter Swoosh has been replaced by a black leather variation that stops well short of the heel. There’s also a small white Swoosh embroidered on the lateral mudguard. Parra branding appears on the heel and tongue, while the look is completed by white midsoles and gum outsoles.
At the time of writing a release date for the Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low has yet to be revealed. However, it’ll likely touch down sometime this spring or summer. In honor of the upcoming release of the Kobe 6 Protro sneakers in “White Del Sol,” GOAT takes a look back at the best Kobe footwear of all time.
