Pharrell may be busy opening boutique hotels and opining on the power of ownership in the music industry as of late, but he’s always got plenty of time for his adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE -0.77%) partnership — and now Skateboard P and the Three Stripes have readied the popular NMD Hu in a refreshing “Clear Aqua.”. Following the tonal stylings established by a recent pink colorway, the “Clear Aqua” offers up chill summertime style and a meaningful text hit on its top half.
As is par for the course on Pharrell’s NMDs, the upper on the “Clear Aqua” is composed of stretchy, flexible Primeknit. This socklike base layer is bolstered by a cut-out midfoot cage and rope laces that wrap around the top of the foot. Starting under these laces and reaching down to the toebox is the shoe’s signature detail: a Xhosa (Bantu language) text hit that reads “Uluntu,” or “community” in English.
More branding is debossed on the leather heel pieces, namely Pharrell’s equality graphic on the left foot and an adidas Originals Trefoil on the right foot. Collars boast black lining, insoles show a signature anatomy print, and the look is completed by a cool blue BOOST midsole with both forefoot and heel bricks.
The Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu “Clear Aqua” will release via the adidas webstore on May 14, and is priced at $220 USD.Jordan Brand‘s Summer 2021 retro collection is rife with tweaked takes on classic styles, one of which is the Air Jordan 12 “Twist.” Offering a crisp white and black color scheme enhanced by vibrant metallic red accents, the “Twist” serves as an elevated homage to the Chicago Bulls‘ white uniforms — and now we’ve been given our most detailed look yet at its construction thanks to Instagram leak account Sneakertigger.
This AJ12’s upper is crafted from both tumbled and pebbled white leather, the former on the collar, heel and forefoot, the latter on the mudguard. Signature stitched lines add texture, and metallic red makes its presence felt on the midfoot badge and top two eyestays. Black is introduced into the mix via the throat’s “TWO 3” spellouts, the tongue’s Jumpman logo, the collar lining and the two-tone heel tab. Down below, midsoles are done up in white with a red Jumpman on the toe bumper for extra flair. Black herringbone outsoles surround a carbon fiber midfoot plate to complete the look.
The Air Jordan 12 “Twist” is set to release on July 31, pending official confirmation from Nike. Its MSRP is set at $190 USD.It’s been 30 years since Rugrats first aired on Nickelodeon, so the beloved cartoon is celebrating its milestone anniversary with a special PUMA (XETRA:PUM.DE -0.54%)collection. Consisting of seven pieces in total for both adults and children, the collection uses bright colors, playful detailing and whimsical graphics to show its inspirations and salute three decades of Chuckie, Angelica, Tommy, Susie and the rest of the crew.
As mentioned above, seven products in total will release. However, only one has been revealed so far: PUMA Hoops‘ new Court Rider, a versatile basketball silhouette favored by LaMelo Ball, RJ Barrett and other PUMA team members. Its ’90s-centric colorway draws directly from the familiar Rugrats logo, boasting a teal, purple and green upper that wouldn’t look out of place with the uniforms of Ball’s Charlotte Hornets. This upper is embellished with a Rugrats logo on the tongue, a Nickelodeon hit on the heel and full-color printed insoles, while down below the Rider foam midsoles add orange and yellow into the mix to complete the shoe’s colorful inspiration.
Expect the rest of the Nickelodeon x PUMA Hoops Rugrats collection to be revealed in the coming weeks, and look for a drop sometime this summer. MSRPs have yet to be announced.Nike (NYSE:NKE +0.13%) ‘s ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 has released in an “OG” colorway that nods to the genesis of the Breaking2 project by replicating the “Ice Blue/University Red” color scheme used on 2017’s Zoom Vaporfly Elite. As any Nike Running fan will recall, the Breaking2 project — helmed by the late Sandy Bodecker— was a Swoosh “moonshot” initiative to break the two-hour marathon barrier. Though Breaking2 wasn’t successful until 2019, its first attempt in 2017 did set a then-world marathon record and saw elite runners like Eliud Kipchoge take the track in a very specific blue and red Zoom Vaporfly Elite colorway. Therefore, this new ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 is a salute to that moment in running history.
The shoe’s top half is built from an icy blue Atomknit material, with a large black medial Swoosh swooping up from the toebox to the heel and a smaller black lateral Swoosh appearing directly under the collar. These details stand in stark contrast to the red “mudguard” on the forefoot and toebox, which is adorned with white print. Heels add stopwatch and Nike Running-inspired graphics into the mix as well.
Down below, the soft ZoomX foam midsole comes to a sharp point at the heel. Inside its cushy foam folds sits the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2’s signature technological innovation: a full-foot carbon fiber plate that provides exemplary energy return, enabling the wearer to run faster and longer without fatigue. Stripped-back outsoles place rubber in high-wear areas under the forefoot and heel to enhance durability and complete the look.
The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 “OG” is available now at Nike GB. Its MSRP is set at a standard $225 USD.Once strictly the domain of mall sneaker stores and “first Air Jordan” buyers, Jordan Brand‘s Air Jordan 1 Mid has gained an enormous amount of stature over the last year-plus. In a turn of events that would have been unthinkable even three years ago, its new colorways are now rumored, teased and leaked — and the latest makeup to receive this special treatment is one that appears to feature heat-reactive heel paneling, revealed by the sneaker leakers at s.sam.group.
The front end of this mid-cut Air Jordan 1 is all business, mixing black leather mudguards, eyestays and Swooshes with white leather toeboxes, quarters and collars. The heel and collar flaps are where most of the action is going on, thanks to a high-gloss leather that appears to shift colors with exposure to heat.
These divergent hues include blue, green and red — the last of which draws some parallels to the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 thanks to the white contrast stitching — and each pair repeats this amorphous detailing on the tongue tag. Black ball-and-wings logos on the collar flaps work with white midsoles and black outsoles to round off the look.
A release date for this color-shifting Air Jordan 1 Mid has yet to be revealed, but it’ll likely arrive sometime later this year.Forever remembered for being spotted on the soles of Dee Brown during the 1991 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II is in the midst of celebrating three decades of existence. After giving new life to the model’s “No Look Dunk” makeup earlier in the year, Reebok is now extending the silhouette’s run of celebratory colorways with the revival of its OG “White” colorway.
The upper halves of these retro kicks are formed with leather and mesh materials. The former receives a bright white complexion and give the colorway its moniker while the latter is done up in a stark black. Bursts of orange are visible atop the tongue’s pump button, eye stays and Reebok branding, and more pitch black finishes are applied to the wavy TPU mid-foot molds and Reebok spell out on the lateral side walls. Midsoles are given a mostly white backgrounds and come accented with notes of stealthy trim. Planted out back is a two-toned, embroidered Hexalite logo which calls out the pair’s cushioning unit.
Looking to cop? You can find these dropping via Reebok and select retailers on May 21 for $140 USD.
