As reported on Monday by Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, former quarterback Tim Tebow has been offered a one-year contract to play tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If the deal gets sealed in the coming weeks, Tebow will be stepping onto the field after a six-year hiatus, which reunites him with his former Florida Gators head coach, Urban Meyer. Although born in the Philippines, Tebow is a Florida native who will be given the chance to play for his hometown for the first time since college.
The former Heisman Trophy winner was the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos as they went 9-7. Afterward, he joined the New York Jets followed by the New England Patriots before trading in his pads for a glove as he joined the New York Met’s minor league baseball for five years.
33-year-old Tebow will be making a transition to tight end, a position he hasn’t played in his entire football career, but Meyer confirmed that he has been working out with the Jaguars for the said position.
The tight end position will be a crucial safety net for the Jaguars as they secured the No. 1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence who played quarterback for the Clemson Tigers. In order to protect their fresh recruit, Tebow will hopefully be joining their roster of tight ends along with rookie Luke Farrell, Chris Manhertz, James O’Shaughnessy, Ben Ellefson, and Tyler Davis.
A jersey that Michael Jordan wore during his 1982-1983 championship season at the University of North Carolina has sold for a whopping $1.38 million USD at Heritage Auctions.
According to reports, the sale made history to become the most expensive Jordan jersey ever sold. The article of clothing was worn during a UNC-Stanford game at the Stanford Invitational Tournament, and a local high school student who was working as a locker room attendant for the visiting team kept the jersey. Heritage Auctions added that the jersey is the only one that was photo-matched to his “Player of the Year” photo on The Sporting News; Jordan can be seen wearing a uniform that’s dressed in the traditional Tar Heel colors, his number 23 and his last name and the school’s.
“As the final price tag proves, this jersey has everything any serious collector could possibly want,” Heritage director of sport auctions Chris Ivy said. “It’s got scarcity, it’s one of a kind, it’s photo-matched,” he added, continuing, “It’s a great investment. That’s another angle. … It’s something that you’re investing in. I think this is as solid as it gets.”
Photo-matching is a process now used to authenticate game-used/worn memorabilia, with Ivy further explaining that the high-resolution images of the jersey and Jordan’s The Sporting News cover should show ”corresponding mesh holes, lettering and other threading at multiple points.”
“As far as collectors go, that’s iron-clad,” he added. “That comfort level is what allows us to generate such a significant price.”
Prior to the sale of the UNC jersey, the record for most expensive Jordan jersey was held by a 1986-1987 game-worn Chicago Bulls uniform that sold $480,000 USD.Originally scheduled for February, the exhibition bout between Floyd Mayweatherand Logan Paul is back on for June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The greatest boxer of his generation was last seen in a boxing ring in December 2018, where he annihilated the Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round. The former professional boxer retired in 2017 at 40 years old with an undefeated record of 50-0.
Paul on the other hand last threw on the gloves professionally in November 2019 when he lost a split decision to fellow social media star KSI. His younger brother Jake Paul has been proving his place in the boxing world and is already 3-0 in major events against rivals unfamiliar in the ring.
