Roger Dubuis has revisited its Excalibur Knights of the Round Table watch with a dramatic Arthurian dial scene using Murano glass.

This latest Excalibur Knights of the Round Table watch sees its micro-sculpture knights surround not the round table, but an ominous crack in the ground, glowing red hot.

The effect is created using small, hand-assembled slabs of black Murano glass, created on the island of Murano in Venice, while the red magma effect is achieved using red lacquer. The 12 knights – which are represent hour markers and are cast in 18K rose gold – stand inside a ring of blood red Murano glass, which is also inset into the crown.

To offer a different view of the scene, a deep ring of transparent sapphire crystal sits between the bezel and the 45mm 18K rose gold case.

Powered by the 4Hz automatic Monobalancier RD821 calibre, the Excalibur Knights of the Round Table Boutique Edition is limited to 28 pieces and available via Roger Dubuis boutiques, priced $343,000 USD.Girard-Perregaux Revives Fan Favorite With Limited Edition Ceramic and Titanium Casquette 2.0Girard-Perregaux Revives Fan Favorite With Limited Edition Ceramic and Titanium Casquette 2.0Girard-Perregaux has revived its 1970s Casquette with an all-new movement and a recreation of its unique case in ceramic and titanium.

Casquette was originally produced between 1976 and 1978, with 8,200 pieces being produced and sold under an anonymous reference number rather than the sobriquet it would later earn among collectors.

The watch – which displayed hours, minutes, seconds, day and date with the press of a button – boasted an innovative tubular LED display and variations were produced with cases in polycarbonate, yellow gold plate and steel.

Now 44 years after the model was discontinued, Girard-Perregaux introduces the Casquette 2.0 with a faithfully proportioned scratch-resistant ceramic case and bracelet (with rubber interior) and grade 5 titanium caseback, pushers and vintage Girard-Perregaux logo.

Last year Girard-Perregaux hinted at a return of the design with a forged carbon piece unique created in collaboration with Bamford Watch Department for the Only Watch charity auction. The watch featured an entirely new Calibre GP03980 movement which now powers the Casquette 2.0, adding month, year, chronograph, second time zone and secret date to the watch’s list of functions.

“Not all watches retain their looks and desirability with the passage of time,” says Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of Girard-Perregaux. “However, since production of the original Casquette ceased in 1978, the interest in this watch has never diminished. We regularly receive enquiries and have witnessed these models attract much attention, fetching 10x their original sales price on the pre-owned market.”

The Casquette 2.0 is available now, as a limited edition of 820 pieces, via Girard-Perregaux retailers, priced $4,700 USD.Kross Studio Drops $100,000 USD Collector Set Including Central Tourbillon Watch and illuminating Bat Signal Presentation PieceKross Studio Drops $100,000 USD Collector Set Including Central Tourbillon Watch and illuminating Bat Signal Presentation PieceKross Studio Drops $100,000 USD Collector Set Including Central Tourbillon Watch and illuminating Bat Signal Presentation PieceSwiss blockbuster atelier Kross Studio has dropped a new ten-piece $100,000 USD Collector Set tourbillon celebrating Matt Reeves’ forthcoming film, “The Batman”.

The set includes a 45mm black DLC titanium “The Batman” themed central tourbillonwatch and an illuminated Bat-Signal art piece.

Kross Studio has adapted its 3Hz, five-day central tourbillon movement and created the KS 7’001 calibre with a Bat emblem on its 60-second tourbillon cage.

The watch displays the hours using a peripheral hour hand and a rotating minute disc surrounding the tourbillon, while the crownless design features a foldout D-Ring on the caseback to wind the mainspring and a Time Set button at the three o’clock position.

Kross Studio offers three straps in black calf leather embossed with the pattern of Batman’s body armor as well as black and red rubber options to take advantage of the case’s quick release strap button.

The illuminating Bat Signal art piece follows the iconic louvred design of the comic books and films and features a space on the reverse for storing the watch.

Kross Studio is also releasing a series of $250 USD watch rolls based on the film, with designs dedicated to Batman, Catwoman and The Riddler.

“The Batman” Collector Set is available now via Kross Studio, priced $100,000 USD, while the Batman premieres in the US on March 4.Five-Piece Limited Edition UR-112 AGGREGAT Odyssey Mixes Titanium and Steel With a Variety of FinishesFive-Piece Limited Edition UR-112 AGGREGAT Odyssey Mixes Titanium and Steel With a Variety of FinishesURWERK has dropped a new bare metal limited edition version of its UR-112 Aggregat.

Inside is the UR-13.01 calibre with a 48-hour power reserve provided using a large single mainspring barrel. While the transmission of information from the main display to the secondary hidden secondary displays is made possible using a long thin titanium rod that is thought to be the biggest individual component used in contemporary watchmaking.
