STREETWEAR: ASSID's New SS21 Lookbook Presents an Explosion of Bold Graphics

ASSID has unveiled the latest visuals to its Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The new lookbook showcases a lively explosion of graphics, just as tongue-in-cheek as the label’s previous collections.

The lineup includes T-shirts, long-sleeves, sweaters, hoodies, shorts and short-sleeve button-ups, to mention a few. One noteworthy piece is a long-sleeve emblazoned with a portrait of a man with a fake elephant tusk. “ASSIDELIC” is boldly printed across the back in red, popping out against the graphic’s light green silhouette. Another highlight is a black hoodie that’s detailed with embroidered flames with the words “Satanic Rock Music.” Other garments like the gray crewneck sweaters, Marlboro Man-inspired hoodie and “U” T-shirt round off the concise assemblage.

ASSID’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection will be available at select retailers like DSM SINGAPORE and LN-CC in the coming weeks — prices have yet to be confirmed.

LADIES FRESH KICKS: ADIDAS / NIKE / ALEXANDER McQUEEN

Kanye West has been dropping both the coveted YEEZY Wave Runner 700 and Desert Rat 500 silhouettes this year, and following their significant success, adidas has decided to release its own remix of the popular sneakers.

Yeezy Mafia previewed a chunky “dad sneaker” featuring a mesh and textile upper with nubuck overlays, following the aesthetic of the Wave Runner 700. The colorway and arched outsole draw inspiration from the Desert Rat 500, and the simple Three Stripe detailing finishes off the silhouette. The model is reportedly coming in two colorways: a clean all-white iteration, as well as a navy/red/cream.

There is yet no confirmation as to when the rumored sneaker will be dropping, but it will allegedly hit stores sometime in June 2018 and retail around $130 USD.

One of 2017’s most coveted sneaker collaborations is undoubtedly Virgil Abloh‘s “The Ten” collection with Nike. While not all of us were lucky enough to cop a pair from the quickly sold-out range, Beyoncé has recently been gifted her own personalized Air Jordan 1‘s from the Off-White™ helmer.

As Virgil shares on his personal Instagram account, he has customized the high-top shoes with his signature marker handwriting. Queen Bey’s name can be clearly seen from the white sole, written just right next to the “AIR” text. Eye-catching laces in neon green and orange have also been added to the kicks.

As one of the year’s most beloved sneakers, Nike introduces yet another Air VaporMax colorway just before 2017 closes. Constructed with a Flyknit upper, the latest “Triple White” edition is constructed with a completely tonal profile. Along with a stark, white Swoosh logo on the side panel, the silhouette boasts a grey VaporMax midsole.

You can shop the new Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit “White Triple” for $255 CAD (approximately $202 USD) at select retailers such as Livestock.

Nike is back with an Air Huarache Ultra in Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year – an ultra violet beaut.

The one-piece upper is covered in “Gunsmoke” purple, while seamless molded details are built into the lateral. The cage overlay and rear Nike-branded elastic are accented in a light “Particle Rose.” To complete is an ultra-lightweight sole.

Nike is starting 2018 on a decidedly all luxe note, having released the Air Max 97 Ultra in “Lux” pink and polished grey. Back at it again is a new Air Max Plus Lux in light pink.

The upper is made with pink velvet – wrapped all-around is a ribbed design that is so signature to the Plus model. Grey borders a clean white midsole while pink returns to grace the outsole in a combination that is pretty and unconventionally minimal.

The latest Air Max Plus is releases at FRUITION on January 6 at approximately $150 USD.

The chunky sneaker trend is currently at its peak, and Alexander McQueen has just revealed two new colorways of its iconic platform sneaker. Coming in a bright pink as well as a royal blue shade, she shoes are perfect for color lovers and sneaker heads alike.

The brushed leather silhouette is equipped with a padded tongue and heel tab, as well as a tonal texture rubber sole and matching laces. Minimal, yet striking – these shoes are a must-have.

Nike debuted the the Air VaporMax CS late last year and to kick off 2018, the sportswear giant has unveiled a new metallic update, just for ladies.

Arriving in “Wolf Grey,” the VaporMax CS sees the Flyknit upper swapped out for mesh and other synthetic materials. The tonal upper is constructed from varying panels of silver and grey and features mini Swoosh detailing on the midfoot and lateral. It’s rounded off with VaporMax branding upon the heel and of course, that iconic Air Max midsole.

TEES: These Vintage T-Shirts Are Reworked With a Streetwear Touch

 

 

Vintage T-shirts are pretty much everywhere, at mass market retailers and specialty shops alike. But one Bangkok-based brand is giving them a new soul in ways that include a little streetwear. Meet Dry Clean Only.
Designer “Best” Patipat Chaipukdee started it in 2010 and travels between Asian and the U.S., hunting down ’80s T-shirts. Catch Nike, adidas and sports team logos garnished with a little lace or distress. He told Vogue:

“I want something unique, but I don’t want to make clothes the way other people do, by buying proper fabrics and making patterns—it’s about using mass-produced or forgotten materials to create one-of-a-kind fashion.”

His brand is now stocked worldwide in select shops like colette, I.T and more. The cherry on top? Beyoncé was spotted in his design at a show last year in Madison Square Garden.
