the fragment design x Beats by Dre Collection/Phase One A-Series Medium Format Camera Systems/Orbits Clock by Studio Ve

Following the announcement that Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s fragment design would produce a limited capsule with Beats by Dre, we now take a closer look at the products offered. Consisting of a Beats Pill and Beats Solo2 headphone, the capsule collection features fragment design’s signature blue detailing, as complementing white overlays along the exterior provide an alluring contrast. A reflective metallic coating decorates the Solo2 headphone, providing the finishing touch to the refined aesthetic. The fragment design x Beats by Dre collection is available now at select Beats by Dre accounts and its online store.

Phase One has released its medium-format A-Series, starting off with three camera system models. Combining Phase One and ALPA technology, the A-Series is built upon an ALPA 12TC mirrorless camera body and 35mm Rodenstock Alpar lens attached to the Phase One medium format IQ2 A-Series digital backs, available in 50, 60 or 80 megapixel configurations. Other lens options include the ultra-wide 23mm or the medium telephoto 70mm ALPA HR Alpagon lenses adapted to full frame medium-format sensors. The A-Series is now available from Phase One partners worldwide.

Studio Ve‘s newest wall clock, the “Orbits Clock,” is cutting-edge in both concept and design. The regular dial needles are replaced by a composition of light, airy wires shaped in three circular forms that gravitate around the clock face to display the time. Each of the three circles rotate independently as time goes by, and the current time is shown by small indicators placed on each ‘hand.’ Made of black carbon fiber, these circles make up a unique form that challenges existing approaches to horology and clock contours; the timepiece is simple, clean and intriguing. Purchase the Orbits Clock here for $150 USD.
