AUTO: Bentley Presents the Continental GT Galene Edition, a Yacht-Themed Convertible

Bentley‘s bespoke Mulliner division has teamed up with Britain-based Princess Yachts to create the Bentley Continental GT Galene Edition. Inside the cabin, seating surfaces are covered in light-colored white and taupe, contrasted with caramel stitching and a bluish-gray dash. The steering wheel with paddle-shift gear selects invites an assured grip with increased storage — meaning you can bring more things with you on your journey. An eyeglasses case is embedded into the center tunnel that is lined with “Brunel”-colored ersatz-suede microfiber which matches the passenger-side dashboard. A hand-painted yacht illustration by Spanish artist Jaume Vilardell is placed on the fascia that reminds one of the nautical vibe.
To resemble the grandness of a yacht, Mulliner division has created a special open-pore wood for the Galene, a new pinstripe walnut trim that evokes a deck-design found on a yacht. The wood can also be seen lining the door sills and the entire floor of the trunk. On the glacier white exterior that is offset by a dash of blue trim and a dark blue convertible top, the model’s iconic grille has changed from gloss black to bright chrome. Instead of the massive 6.0-liter W-12 stablemates used in typical Continental GT Convertibles, the Galene is powered by the Audi-sourced 4.0 twin-turbo V-8.
