Following the reveal of the in-game digital replica for Need for Speed Unboundearlier last month, new images of A$AP Rocky‘s real-life custom Mercedes-Benz 190E have now surfaced. Having hired AWGE as a creative consultant, Unbound will allow players to compete with Rocky in-game for a chance to beat him for the hero car.

The DTM-inspired 190E saloon arrives in Scarface-like mid-split paintwork featuring all-over AWGE branding and the slogans “Always $trive and Prosper” and “If Not Now Then When” printed on the driver and passenger doors. Additional details include X-taped headlights, a metallic gold grille, TESTING warning motifs on the antennae, an extended front splitter with green underglow lights, and deep-dish BBSrear wheels.

“Every panel is altered, all four arches are tubbed and there’s some wonderful, old-school craftsmanship in it. Some great friendships have been forged along the way too, which is what car life is all about,” writes Ryan Steward from Speedhunters who was involved in the project. “It takes a team willing to go beyond any sane level of detail to create something so extremely accurate to a game render.”

Take a closer look at the in-game version of the car here. More details and specifics are expected to arrive via a Speedhunters feature in the coming weeks.

Now, CEO Ola Källenius has provided more info on when, exactly the electric G-Class would become available to the general public. Per a report from Autoblog, Källenius told members of the media that the special vehicle should be brought to market by the end of 2024.

Mercedes-Benz provided a close-up look at a concept version of the EQG back in 2021 — originally announcing that it would be available in 2025 — and Källenius reported that an early prototype he’d tested at Mercedes-Benz’s G-Class testing grounds in Graz, Austria was more than up to snuff. “From now on, going off-road is electric,” he told reporters. Mercedes-Benz also plans to make its fleet of vehicles fully electric by 2030.

Currently, an exact date of arrival and pricing information for the Mercedes-Benz EQG has yet to be revealed. After all, it’s a full two years away. However, more info on the powerful electric SUV is likely to surface soon.

Brought in by Prestige Marine — one of the most successful luxury automotive dealers since the ’80s — the $3.5 million USD is just one of 63 being made globally to commemorate the founding year of Lamborghini Automobili.

The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 Yacht is a specially commissioned design by the Italian Sea Group, where both names share headquarters and production facilities in Northern Italy. Giving us exclusive access to the dock arrival and delivery of the powerboat, Brett David, CEO of Prestige Marine comments, “The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 is one of the most unique yachts in the world with its uncompromising design, performance, and handling. 1963 is the founding year of Lamborghini, so that number appears throughout. And with that, we have a 63-foot boat that has a top speed of 63 knots, a total number only 63 being built, all paying homage to Lamborghini’s original starting date of 1963.”

Borrowing the aggressive design cues from the Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, the yacht sees a number of carbon fiber accents and angular lines. Powering the vessel is a pair of powerful MAN V12 2,000-horsepower engines. Other design details include hexagonal shapes and sharp-cornered ends, Y-shaped headlights, and a supercar-inspired hard top. Everything from start to finish is custom to the client where this one delivered came in a silver color and was priced closer to the $4 million USD mark.

Explaining a bit more about how one orders such a boat, David continues, “The customer experience that Prestige Imports offers is a different experience from purchasing any type of car or jewelry because we help clients create the complex build throughout its entire life cycle until the vessel is fully complete. We provide our customers the opportunity to join our team in Italy to go over every detail of the vessel from drafting initial designs, color swatching, and configurations to everything that makes this boat so special. For decades, Prestige Imports has sold the Lamborghini brand here in Miami and South Florida. We are honored to welcome the first custom Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 here to North America.”

WHIPS: Bugatti Presents One-Off Chiron Super Sport Sur Mesure "Vagues de Lumière"//Mercedes-Maybach Launches Virgil Abloh-Designed S Class and Capsule Collection

Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 273 MPH W16 Sur Mesure Vagues de Lumière Longtail Speed Record Hypercar Rare Limited Edition Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 273 MPH W16 Sur Mesure Vagues de Lumière Longtail Speed Record Hypercar Rare Limited Edition Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 273 MPH W16 Sur Mesure Vagues de Lumière Longtail Speed Record Hypercar Rare Limited Edition Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 273 MPH W16 Sur Mesure Vagues de Lumière Longtail Speed Record Hypercar Rare Limited Edition The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport was announced last year, and now the first customer orders are being delivered — including this incredibly special Sur Mesure example titled “Vagues de Lumière.”

Featuring a unique blue and orange hand-painted color scheme that mimics the way lights reflect off Chiron Super Sport’s curved panels, the car has been given a true one-off overhaul by the geniuses at the brand’s Molsheim Atelier, resulting in a Chiron SS that stands out even among other Bugatti models.

The lines sculpt and curve around the body aerodynamically, showing the shapes that allow the car to pierce through the air at astronomical speeds in all their glory. Everything from the badging to the wheels, the “38” horseshoe grille, engine bay coloring, and the interior have been clad in orange, working alongside plenty of carbon fiber for a breathtaking finish.

Carbon has been used on the lower panels of the car, defining its aero elements, as well as for the engine bay that houses the signature eight-liter W16. The unit pumps out 1,600 PS, which is enough to send the car to 273 MPH.

As Bugatti explains, “All Chiron Super Sport build slots have now been reserved, with an extensive waiting list should any open up.” For a car such as this, it’s expected it cost much more than the $3.9M USD base price — take a closer look at the example above.

The final stage of the collaboration takes inspiration from “Project MAYBACH”, which Abloh unveiled alongside Mercedes-Maybach in late 2021.

The vehicle is strictly limied to just 150 units, and was designed by Abloh before his passing last year. Dubbed the Maybach by Virgil Abloh, the collaborative design is based on a fully-equipped Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S680 and features the “Project MAYBACH” two-tone color pallete of glossy “Obsidian Black” and “Sand.” This color palette continues onto the vehicles interior, including the four seats, steering wheel, doors, lower dashboard, floormats and ceiling. Finishing the design, a special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo appears multiple times across the car’s interior.

The unique details also spread to the unique user interface, with an hand-picked visual elements used on the updated version of the Maybach MBUX suite of technologies. Additionally, the car comes with a custom-made wooden box featuring a 1/18 scale replica of the car, the two car keys and a carabiner hook.

For the accompanying capsule collection — designed in collaboration with Off-White™ — continues the car’s color palette with vintage washed T-shirts, half-brushed cotton fleece crewnecks and hoodies, canvas baseball caps and racing gloves in canvas, neoprene and suede all coming in “Sand” with black details.

Launching the latest project, Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said:

“I’m incredibly proud of the work we have created in collaboration with Virgil. From Project Gelaendewagen, which set the benchmark for fashion/automotive collaborations with our iconic G-Class, to “Project MAYBACH” which brought the distinguished Mercedes-Maybach heritage into the future, together with Virgil we truly broke new ground. The limited edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh exemplifies the symbiosis between innovative design and ultimate craftsmanship now available on the road.”

Both the car and the apparel collection are available now, and the collection is available now from Off-White™, Farfetch and Maybach Icons of Luxury online stores.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class S500 AMG Long Wheel Base Luxury German Car V6 Chauffer Tech Augmented Reality Future Self Driving Test Drive HYPEBEAST Open Road

For car enthusiasts, driving is about more than just the technical specifics. Open Road explores not just what these cars do, but what they mean. Whether it’s an old, new, or exotic model, HYPEBEAST is looking beyond the stats to unpack the simple pleasures of automotive.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class was first released in 1972, and every time a new iteration has been released it has single-handedly redefined and reset the benchmarkfor luxury. From the first iteration in 1903 that set the tone for early 20th-century manufacturing to the first official S-Class of ‘72, which introduced never-before-seen safety innovations such as ABS, changing the game has been at the forefront of this car’s intentions. Now in its seventh generation, the S-Class has solidified itself as the executive car to beat, squaring up to the Rolls-Royce Phantom, Audi A8, Bentley Flying Spur and the BMW 7 Series in a battle of technology, comfort, sophistication and exclusivity.

If you see an S-Class, especially the blacked-out long-wheel-base S500 version, one question often comes to mind: who’s in the back of that? For over 50 years, cars such as this have served as the chariot of diplomats, politicians, high-flying businessmen and illicit kingpins, fronted by a discreet and expressionless chauffeur. While the rear seat experience is still of the utmost importance, it seems that Mercedes-Benz has now put just as much emphasis on the driver – no longer is the S-Class just a car to be driven in, as the latest model is packed with equal goodness up front.

From the moment you sink into the seat – arguably the comfiest seat of any car ever – you’re surrounded by screens, game-changing technology, and serenity. Little-to-no noise permeates the cabin, and even when you fire up the straight-six engine in this S500 model very little changes audibly bar a welcoming chime.

In front of you is an augmented reality heads-up display that projects the equivalent of a 30-inch TV screen on the road, with animated arrows showing your SatNav direction, illuminated bumpers detecting cars, and all the necessary road information such as speed limits and how fast you’re traveling. This is complemented by the 3D-effect digital driver’s screen that can be customized to the nth degree, specifically showing off its skillset when you select the map mode or the Sports mode – yes, there’s a Sports and Sports+ mode in an S-Class, and we’ll get onto that later.

The 12.8-inch infotainment screen is packed with OLED tech to deliver one of the sharpest and brightest interactive touch systems on the market, and after some time you’re completely at ease with something that was initially daunting. Haptic feedback makes on-the-go adjustments to climate control, massage functions, sound system and driving information easier to operate, while the ambient lighting – which is embedded into a 360-degree display that laps the perimeter of the interior – lights up in accordance with your desired requests to make the user experience that bit more harmonious.

Yet, even after a week spent with the S-Class, we barely scratched the surface of its interior. While much of the tech is immediately in your face, there’s a lot that’s hidden and probably only accessible by someone piously Gen-Z. This is no bad thing of course, as it always kept passengers entertained. In the rear, a deployable Androidtablet controls everything the driver has use of in front, and if your rear passengers are VIPs, then blinds on the rear windows can be electronically raised from the windowsill as passengers relax – naturally with the massage function on, footrest extended and the seat reclined to the max – while they watch something on the tablet thanks to in-car 4G.

Despite all of this luxury and technological wizardry, the S-Class is no longer just about the chauffeur experience. While previous generations have been fettled by AMG, implementing V8 and V12 engines, the straight-six that’s found in the S500 is more than enough to get a swift move on when the road gets going, especially when more eager modes are engaged.

Cars like this are designed to munch motorways, obliterating the miles in true style and comfort. But what happens when you switch to Sports+ mode for characteristics that feel out of place in a 5.2-meter long land yacht?

Turning off the motorway and onto English country lanes, the S500 firmed up the suspension – electronically reading dips and curves to adjust the damping – and it made the throttle response rapid, as opposed to the standard setting’s wafty approach. Brake feel was heightened, steering became heavier and subsequently more involving. Unlike luxury barges that are designed to strictly float you through life, the S-Class’ mode selector made for a case of Jekyll and Hyde.

By all means, do not mistake this for a performance car. What makes the S-Class special is that this alter ego is on tap, at your disposal to effortlessly chuck around corners and rev rather high thanks to machine-crafted metal shift paddles behind the steering wheel that let you take control. You might look like a heavy-handed brute manhandling a car originally designed to be driven in, not driven hard, but isn’t it about time the driver of a mid-level S-Class got something to enjoy too?

Switching the S500 back to its intended mode, you find yourself back in the epitome of perfection. Fine leather surrounds every inch of the cabin, a three-dimension Burmester surround sound symphony emits music in a manner only matched by a concert at the Royal Albert Hall and microfiber head cushions coupled with the 10-function massage program caress and lure you in their sumptuousness.

The new-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class really is the car to beat. Whether it be technology, class, comfort, performance, prestigiousness, anonymity, or how hard you can flex your wealth, it’s the king of executive success and excess for a reason – name another car you’d rather alleviate the struggles of life in. We’ll wait.
