The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport was announced last year, and now the first customer orders are being delivered — including this incredibly special Sur Mesure example titled “Vagues de Lumière.”
Featuring a unique blue and orange hand-painted color scheme that mimics the way lights reflect off Chiron Super Sport’s curved panels, the car has been given a true one-off overhaul by the geniuses at the brand’s Molsheim Atelier, resulting in a Chiron SS that stands out even among other Bugatti models.
The lines sculpt and curve around the body aerodynamically, showing the shapes that allow the car to pierce through the air at astronomical speeds in all their glory. Everything from the badging to the wheels, the “38” horseshoe grille, engine bay coloring, and the interior have been clad in orange, working alongside plenty of carbon fiber for a breathtaking finish.
Carbon has been used on the lower panels of the car, defining its aero elements, as well as for the engine bay that houses the signature eight-liter W16. The unit pumps out 1,600 PS, which is enough to send the car to 273 MPH.
As Bugatti explains, “All Chiron Super Sport build slots have now been reserved, with an extensive waiting list should any open up.” For a car such as this, it’s expected it cost much more than the $3.9M USD base price — take a closer look at the example above.

The final stage of the collaboration takes inspiration from “Project MAYBACH”, which Abloh unveiled alongside Mercedes-Maybach in late 2021.
The vehicle is strictly limied to just 150 units, and was designed by Abloh before his passing last year. Dubbed the Maybach by Virgil Abloh, the collaborative design is based on a fully-equipped Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S680 and features the “Project MAYBACH” two-tone color pallete of glossy “Obsidian Black” and “Sand.” This color palette continues onto the vehicles interior, including the four seats, steering wheel, doors, lower dashboard, floormats and ceiling. Finishing the design, a special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo appears multiple times across the car’s interior.
The unique details also spread to the unique user interface, with an hand-picked visual elements used on the updated version of the Maybach MBUX suite of technologies. Additionally, the car comes with a custom-made wooden box featuring a 1/18 scale replica of the car, the two car keys and a carabiner hook.
For the accompanying capsule collection — designed in collaboration with Off-White™ — continues the car’s color palette with vintage washed T-shirts, half-brushed cotton fleece crewnecks and hoodies, canvas baseball caps and racing gloves in canvas, neoprene and suede all coming in “Sand” with black details.
Launching the latest project, Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said:
“I’m incredibly proud of the work we have created in collaboration with Virgil. From Project Gelaendewagen, which set the benchmark for fashion/automotive collaborations with our iconic G-Class, to “Project MAYBACH” which brought the distinguished Mercedes-Maybach heritage into the future, together with Virgil we truly broke new ground. The limited edition Maybach by Virgil Abloh exemplifies the symbiosis between innovative design and ultimate craftsmanship now available on the road.”
Both the car and the apparel collection are available now, and the collection is available now from Off-White™, Farfetch and Maybach Icons of Luxury online stores.
