Known as a fashion house with a penchant for the unusual, Maison Margiela recently unveiled its latest footwear option, the Retro Fit sneaker.

Crafted from the house codes established by Creative Director John Galliano, the upcoming athleisure shoes feature a done-undone look and feel like the released divisive glue-covered Fusion Sneaker. Available in both high and low top iterations, the unisex Retro Fit sneakers express themes of time and recollection evoking the silhouette of trainers accented by haphazard distressing. Drawing from various footwear models, most notably snowboarding boots the shoes serve as a display of Maison Margiela’s artisinal term, Décortiqué, a reduction of an article to its core and Anonymity of the Lining in the reveal of the hidden spongy interior lining.

Check out some early looks of the Retro Fit sneakers and expect the footwear option to be available exclusively at Maison Margiela’s Tokyo location come August 20 with a wider worldwide release coming early September.

With all the logo branding dominating the fashion scene, Burberry‘s new “Vintage Check” cotton sneaker fits right in. Following up on a high-top, red tooling version, this latest Burberry “Vintage Check” model offers a low-top silhouette with white leather and soles. The upper features a cotton canvas upper in the signature Burberry check print, while an embossed white leather midfoot strap and a chunky rubber sole give a modern take on the classic motif.

Last week we shared a potential Solebox x adidas Yung-1 collaboration. The duo recently confirmed the release with official imagery accompanied by a falcon. The old school-inspired adidas model shares a mix of light tan, brown and grey throughout the upper with subtle green and light orange accents throughout. Suede overlays connect with its canvas underlay as both rest atop a white midsole. Its underlay also incorporates small 3M reflective hits with the tongue’s trefoil logo dipped in the aforementioned green.
