Few sneaker lineages are quite as beloved as the Nike Air Max. Though the first model was introduced in the late ’80s, the ’90s and early aughts iterations are some of the finest of the collection.
Nike calls on the Air Max models of the ’90s for inspiration for the recently revealed Air Max TW, describing the sneaker as follows:
Inspired by the treasured franchise that brought Nike Air cushioning to the world and laid the foundation for the track-to-street aesthetic, its eye-catching design delivers a 1-2 punch of comfort and fashion. Ready to highlight any ‘fit, its lightweight upper pairs angular and organic lines to create an entrancing haptic effect.
Aside from the sneaker’s design, which borrows heavily from the Tailwind and TN, the buzz-worthy drop is made of recycled materials as part of Nike’s “Move to Zero” sustainability initiative. In an effort towards zero carbon and zero waste, Nike crafts the Air Max TW from recycled materials, namely post-consumer and/or post-manufactured waste.
The sneaker is available now via Nike in two colorways, a black/white makeup and a “Racer Blue/Speed Yellow” color scheme. Both are priced at $160 USD.
Elsewhere in sneakers, the New Balance 550 returns in “Pink Sand.”GCDS celebrates the power of shape and the joy of creativity with a seductive Fall/Winter 2022accessories campaign lensed by Taiwan-based photographer Zhong Lin.
