The Eames-Inspired Nikes by Ora-Ïto Concept (THESE ARE CRAZY!!!)

Industrial Designers Charles and Ray Eames have had a long-lasting and inspiration impact on the world of design which recently became the focus of a Ora-Ïto mash-up involving Nike. The fan creation takes arguably the most famous of Eames’ designs, the Eames Lounge 670 armchair for Herman Miller (1956) and merges it with the world of footwear. From a functional perspective, the shoes feature dark wooden panels (true to the original) throughout that encapsulate a GORE-TEX slipper. A thin rubber outsole would provide traction. The concept has sparked quite the debate over its aesthetics, leading to a debate over at Design.Co.
