MOVIE NEWS: Trailer: Fantastic Four / Mission Impossible 5 Moved To July Release / Ghostbusters Reboot With An All-Female Cast / Trailer: Child 44 /
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Paramount Pictures has moved up the release date of one of their big franchises, Mission Impossible 5. The film was supposed to be headed to theaters on Christmas Day, but now will see a July 31st opening, to get out of the way from the strong competition in the fourth quarter. The Christopher McQuarrie-directed action blockbuster might fare better in the summer and with Tom Cruise back at the forefront.
After celebrating a 30th anniversary last year, Sony Pictures has finally outlined plans for its long-awaited Ghostbusters reboot. But the original cast of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd unable to come to terms for a third installment of the legendary sci-fi/comedy, Sony has decided to move forward and reboot the series with an entirely new cast. Bridesmaids co-stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy will star in the reboot alongside Saturday Night Live regulars Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.
The upcoming film, starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman and Gary Oldman, is based on the Tom Rob Smith 2008 novel of the same name. It’s set in 1953 Soviet Russia, and follows MGB agent Leo Demidov in the investigation of child murders at the time of Joseph Stalin’s reign.
