Ralph Lauren Agrees to Cease Converse Trademark Infringement Accusation / Converse 2015 Spring/Summer Chuck Taylor 70 Hi
In October 2014, Converse filed a trademark infringement lawsuit to protect its most iconic shoe, the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star. Ralph Lauren and Converse have reportedly filed a joint motion to end their case. Following up with the out-of-court settlement agreement, Ralph Lauren will scrap all shoe models that Converse named as copies of the beloved Chucks’ mid sole stripe and rubber toe cap. Ralph Lauren is set to destroy a range of 36 athletic shoes, as well as all related parts, molds, packaging, tools, promotional and marketing materials within the month. The company will be paying Converse an undisclosed amount as well.
Converse unveils an all-new CT 70 Hi model for the upcoming 2015 spring/summer season. Featuring a supple premium black leather, the high-top silhouette highlights a contrasting light brown rawhide leather at the laces, adding to the simple yet refined aesthetic. A signature white Converse midsole unit provides a balanced look to the model as Converse branding adorns the back heel. Representing a modern take on the brand’s renowned high-top sneaker construction, the Converse CT 70 Hi is available now at select Converse accounts, including Wish.
