His “Best of Show” 1938 Bugatti 57SC Atlantic Coupe headlines the catalog, with the designer not afraid to parade its speciality to him. Using the vehicle as inspiration, Ralph Lauren created the Skeleton Automotive Watch which is highlighted by a display encircled with Amboyna burl wood, a material commonly used in the instrument panels of high-end vehicles. Like a car with its hood open, the watch invites the wearer to marvel at the open-worked caliber movement complete with black oxidized hands. Built by hand, the watch comes with an expensive price tag at $35,000 USD.
