Carhartt WIP Readies for Summer With Hawaiian Shirt-Inspired "Ghetto Palm" Apparel
Carhartt’s WIP imprint is embracing the warmer months with a range of summer-ready clothing and accessories. The pattern-heavy collection of button-ups, T-shirts, tanks, shorts and socks also includes a healthy seasonal offering of swimming trunks and cap styles like a bucket hat made alongside Starter. Titled “Ghetto Palm” (or “Tree of Heaven”), the collection is a tribute to the resilience of plants, which stand as a symbol of strength and rebirth during times of urban decay. Carhartt WIP enlisted the vision of Swiss illustrator Benjamin Guedes to decorate the range with tropical palm trees, ferns and bungalows. The collection is finished off with dark navy, white and leafy green hues, but try pairing the Heaven Leaf Shirt in the Cypress/Bog colorway with the matching pair of Heaven Leaf Print shorts for the ultimate summer get-up.
Purchase the Spring/Summer 2016 “Ghetto Palm” collection now at Carhartt WIP’s online store and shop locations, as well as select stockists.
UNITED ARROWS & SONS Partners With Sunny C Sider for a Beachy Tailored Jacket
Japanese menswear imprint UNITED ARROWS & SONS have partnered with Tokyo-based streetwear brand Sunny C Sider for a beach-ready take on a classic tailored jacket. In keeping with the latter’s California inspirations for spring/summer 2016, the piece bears a breezy palm tree graphic pattern that melds conservative sartorial staples with a street-savvy sense of style.
If you’re in dire need of some beach-ready formalwear, you can pick up a jacket from UNITED ARROWS for $350 USD.
PUMA and Pink Dolphin have tapped Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty to showcase their upcoming capsule collection of summer apparel and footwear. The look and feel of the pieces are inspired by the deep sea, featuring combinations of soft pink, aqua, and shades of blue which can be seen across the jerseys, tees, shorts and the classic PUMA suede sneakers.
The jerseys feature pastel gradients, bold shapes, and co-branded crests, while the tees display large, retro-inspired graphics. The footwear is designed with the usual premium suede uppers, with summery translucent soles, and wave art on the heels. The collection is set to drop May 21 via Pink Dolphin‘s online store, followed by Footaction, DTLR and PUMA.com from May 27 onwards. Check out the video below for a more in-depth look at the collaboration.
