With 18 All-Star nods and five NBA championships, Kobe Bryant firmly established himself as one of the best to ever play the game of basketball. Now post-retirement, the future Hall of Famer is looking to make some noise as a venture capitalist by launching a $100 million USD investment fund for tech companies with the help of entrepreneur Jeff Stibel. The duo previously invested informally in 15 companies over the past three years, but have now made their partnership official by launching a new VC firm ’Bryant Stibel.’ Whether Kobe’s on-court prowess will translate into entrepreneurial skills remains to be seen, but considering Stibel became one of the youngest public company CEOs in America at the age of 32, he seems to have some pretty good guidance. The Wall Street Journal revealed the two will be focusing on tech, media and data companies, and the fund will be provided in full themselves.
