Halima Aden is Allure‘s 2017 July cover star, representing a strong shift in beauty standards. The 19-year-old old was born in a Kenyan refugee camp before emigrating to the states and eventually winning the Miss Minnesota USA pageant. She got her big break in Kanye West’s YEEZY Season 5 and broke the internet as the first hijabi to walk the label’s runway.
