Continuing its endeavors in offering fashion enthusiasts exclusive capsule collections, Pop-In@Nordstrom heads to the MCM archives to remix historic pieces for the next of its monthly drops. Utilizing the talents of the photographer Sue Kwon, the brand tapped the style-conscious, hip-hop legend Slick Rick to front the campaign. Olivia Kim, Nordstrom VP of Creative Projects, details the process:
“I have been a long-time fan of MCM, I love the timeless, yet modern and cool appeal of their pieces. It was incredible to dive into the brand’s archives and be given the opportunity to bring the world of MCM to life in our shops. MCM and Nordstrom are likeminded in offering product that is intended for everyone regardless of age, gender or lifestyle. We are excited to bring our customers this collection of new classics.”
The referential set of clothing and accessories pays homage to the legacy of the German fashion house. Incorporating vintage elements from its annals and utilizing the label’s ubiquitous design characteristics, the range encompasses small leather goods, bags, hoodies, slides, umbrellas, Champion crewnecks, New Era hats, Everlast and Wilson sporting goods and more. The appearance of MCM’s signature all-over monogram cognac visetos printed leather further ties together the ethos, while select silhouettes incorporate striking hues of red, green and blue. Boldness is preserved through the use of leopard-print hair-calf finished with custom gold-plated logo hardware.
With over 100 exclusives for men and women, ranging from $60 – $2,795 USD, find where to purchase your favorite pieces at Nordstrom’s website.
