Virgil Abloh has just teased a collaboration with Just Don: a six-panel strapback cap bearing the iconic UNC Tar Heels emblem and colorway.
The Off-White™ founder and Louis Vuitton artistic director shared a few snapshots of the cap, showing a bold Off-White™ logo above an embroidered “Tarheels” label. Gold “Just Don” branding is stitched onto the back of the cap, above a light brown leather strap, while the right side of the hat features North Carolina Tar Heels’ emblem. There aren’t yet many details about the upcoming project, but the project looks to be an official collaboration between all three entities.Following the unveiling of his Mercedes-Benz collaboration, Virgil Abloh is now teasing an Off-White™ x Stüssy team-up he has been working on.
Taking to Instagram, Virgil showed off what appears to be a collaborative T-shirt that builds on his label’s “I Support Young Black Businesses” initiative. The teased top features Stüssy’s iconic logo above the bold “I Support Young Black Businesses” print obscured by a photo cutout of the Great Sphinx of Giza. Although not much is known about the teased collaboration, the shirt base looks to be from Stüssy and could see an exclusive release at Tribe locations.According to new rumors, Virgil Abloh is expected to release an Off-White™ x Nike(NYSE:NKE -0.29%) “The 20” this year.
Back in 2017, the Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton Men’s and CEO of Off-White™ was given the opportunity to reconstruct 10 Nike footwear icons divided into two themes, dubbed “The 10.” The first, “REVEALING,” saw the Air Jordan 1, Air Max 90, Air Presto, Air VaporMax and Blazer Mid reimagined in a deconstructed manner. While “GHOSTING,” utilized a translucent material to offer a look into the Converse Chuck Taylor, Zoom Fly SP, Air Force 1 Low, React Hyperdunk 2017 and Air Max 97.
Although not much info has surfaced about the potential “The 20” collection, it is safe to assume it should involve 20 different sneaker silhouettes. If the sure to be sought after range follows “The 10” we should see a mix of Jordan Brand, Nike and Converse silhouettes. Details also expected to be carried over include zip-tie tags, orange tabs, “SHOELACES” printed laces and industrial Helvetica text printing.
Stay tuned for more info regarding Virgil Abloh’s rumored Off-White™ x Nike “The 20” 2021 release.
