Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.29%) arguably has the strongest laundry list of collaborators in the sneaker industry right now, and among them is Japanese luxury label sacai. The brand’s founder Chitose Abe has intentions of furthering along its footwear initiatives with the Swoosh this year, and that expansion calls for yet another Vaporwaffle iteration that has just been revealed with a clean “Sail” theme.
In recent memory, a sacai x Nike Vaporwaffle installment was revealed wth stark black uppers and gum bottoms, and this latest piece to surface is essentially the polar opposite of that. The angelic canvas is anchored by angelic synthetics which materialize the base, throat and laces. From there, creamy shadings festoon the Swooshes and overlays atop the rear end and forefoot, the former of which are lent supple leather fabrics while the latter is treated with buttery suedes. Branding located on the tongues and heels usher in bits of contrasting black hits via its Nike and sacailettering.
Chunky, double stacked midsole units which lip out towards the rear are also flooded with a light tan skin, and come mated down under with a full gum outsole.
No official release information has been announced just yet, but Nike will likely be dropping these in the coming months for $180 USD.Strong efforts on behalf of adidas (XETRA:ADS.DE -0.81%) to push the Forum ‘84 over the past year have not gone unnoticed. And after the retro basketball silhouette appeared in Beyonce’s latest IVY PARK x adidas “ICY PARK” campaign, it has made its way back onto our radar in the form of an extremely-limited “Friends and Family” collaboration with Bodega.
While the presentation of this exclusive pair is heavily dependent on neutral tones, the iteration’s accents are what undeniably contribute to its spirit. Smoothened-out suede materials hug the ankle collar paneling, tongue backgrounds and lateral Three Stripe logos, all of which are identically-dressed in a crisp royal blue, while bold red accents appear on the Trefoil insignias, strap’s hardware and first set of eyelets. Medial side stripes deviate from the lateral and come ornamented with cheetah graphics, and a tiny touch of green adorns the middle of the throat. Furthermore, the Boston-based imprint’s moniker is skewed to the lateral heel in gold, and the owner’s individual number out of 333 lands on the opposite side.
Bottommost areas are forged with silver-y molds, simple white midsoles and outsoles tinted with gum outers.
Given that the streetwear retailer recently constructed a F&F Dunk High variation with Nike, this could be an ongoing trend that we see from Bodega.Nike (NYSE:NKE -0.29%) has officially unveiled its all-new GO FlyEase sneaker, described by the brand as its first hands-free sneaker. The sneaker is designed for ease of access, meaning it can be kicked off or put on without an extra thought.
The sneaker is built around a bi-stable hinge, allowing it to be secure in both fully open and fully closed states. Other features that aid its performance include a Kickstand Heel — designed to mimic how people kick off their shoes without compromising the heel design — and a “Diving Board” that creates a continuous footbed for comfort and stability. Lastly, Nike has added a tensnioner band to hold the shoe in its open or closed positions.
With its technical elements, the Nike GO FlyEase is designed for both athletes and people on the go. Speaking about the design, champion fencer Bebe Vio said, “Usually I spend so much time to get in my shoes. With the Nike GO FlyEase, I just need to put my feet in and jump on it. The shoes are a new kind of technology, not only for adaptive athletes but for everyone’s real life.”
The Nike GO FlyEase is due to release via invite for select Nike members on February 15, before a wider release takes place later this year.Every year, Jordan Brand exhibits love and respect for the collegiate athletic programs it sponsors through gifting of special player exclusives. And the next destination of higher education to receive their kicks is none other than the University of Florida — the school responsible for breeding Carlos Dunlap and the now-retired Maurkice Pouncey — who has just pulled back the curtains and unveiled its latest Air Jordan 5 PE.
As expected, the shoes are designed to translate the team colors of the Gainesville-based institution. Heavy school pride is infused into its classic leather build which is dripped in bold blue and overlapped by a sea of tonal elephant print that wrap from front to back. Translucent compositions are brought to the table and distributed to the netted territories atop the mid-foot and throat. To further echo its theme, the school’s Gator head logo is firmly planted onto the tongues, while the heel’s more favored Nike Air hit complements with an orange skin.
A bright white tone engulfs the midsole’s background, and is married up next to the model’s traditional spike molds, the latter of which is painted over with orange and decorated with speckled wallpaper. Translucent treading is glued underneath to string together its look.
