Tokyo isn’t exactly known as the “City of Light” but with a population of 13 million and a booming automotive industry, the city pretty is familiar with neon. Using a keen eye for the cityscape and a bit of clever editing, photographer Sinichi Higashi presents a new series of symmetric extended exposure photos. Capturing the dense traffic of Tokyo’s highways and local streets, Higashi contrasted the neon “brushstrokes” with the natural symmetry and light of the surrounding buildings. Some buildings overlap each other to create a nice ghost effect in the work, resulting in a rather Vitruvian photo set that would make even da Vinci proud. Enjoy the above.
