mita sneakers x Reebok Ventilator "Blue Velvet" /J.Crew Present a New Series of Once Japan-Exclusive New Balance 1400s /Ronnie Fieg Reintroduces ASICS Gel Sight for "West Coast Project" /adidas Y-3 Vern II
Japanese footwear retail staple mita sneakers teams up with Reebok on a signature version of the brand’s Ventilator silhouette, fittingly dubbed “Blue Velvet.” Here we find the vault runner unearthed in two glorious tones of blue pig suede courtesy of mita’s brand language, richly accented with round laces for that classic appearance. Of particular note, Reebok is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Ventilator, with other variations of the sneaker being developed with key retailers globally. Take a gander at this release above, dropping at mita sneakers in the coming weeks.
J. Crew has added two new pairs of New Balance 1400 sneakers, which were previously exclusive to the Japan region, to its inventory. The aesthetically pleasing shoes respectively sport fort green and blue marble suede uppers, matched with mesh toeboxes, bright, alternate color accents, and white rubber midsoles that coordinate with a sparkling white set of shoelaces. Both pairs are now available for purchase from J. Crew’s online webstore, for the retail price of $160 USD.
Close followers of Ronnie Fieg and the development of KITH might remember the “East Coast Project” back in 2013 – a rather ambitious undertaking that found KITH uniting some of the East Coast’s best brands under one roof. Some two years later, Fieg and KITH have set their sights westward for the “West Coast Project,” which we’ve detailed in an earlier report. Anchoring the collection is a new release with Fieg-favorite ASICS, who has invited the designer to re-imagine its Gel Sight silhouette – which has been otherwise overlooked since its debut in 1992.
Two iterations of the sneaker – “Atlantic” and “Pacific” – represent both KITH’s home and its (temporary) expansion; the “Pacific” sneaker honors Los Angeles through rich sandy beige suede through the upper, while the “Atlantic” version makes a nod to wintertime New York with its colder hue of blue throughout. There’s no mention of a wider release, but if in the Southern California area, pick up either version beginning February 20 at the KITH “West Coast Project” pop-up in Venice.

Yohji Yamamoto delves into the adidas archives to draw inspiration for the new Y-3 Vern II sneaker. With a nod to the classic ZX 8000 silhouette, the new iteration sports an all-black upper made of premium suede and nubuck with a triangular-studded heel wrap. The finishing touch can be found in the Y-3 logo embossed on the midfoot. The Y-3 Vern II sneaker is available via select stockists and the online store for $375 USD.
