The 19 year-old skater-meet-artist is back with a fourth solo exhibition titled Fourth Fancy located in the heart of his hometown, Soho, London. Offering “a furtive glimpse into what it is that makes a young man tick,” the show features a wall of mirror pieces, mannequins, large prints on canvas and photo collages of Blondey heritage tokens such as English tabloid posters, vandalized cash and blown-up till receipts from his local watering hole “The Cross Keys Pub” in Convent Garden. With the Pogues‘ “The Old Main Drag” lyrics written across the show’s press release, Blondey McCoy reflects on “normalised debauchery” through an exhibition of personal miscellanea presented in his signature “photo-patchwork style.”
Blondey McCoy’s Fourth Fancy will show from November 19-27 at the Heni Gallery in Soho, London. 50 percent of the exhibition’s proceeds will be donated to Together for Mental Wellbeing.
