Today marks David Beckham‘s 41st birthday and, to celebrate, adidas has unveiled plans to bring back one of the most iconic football boots of all-time: Beckham’s “Champagne” Predator Mania. Originally worn by Beckham in 2002 in his final season at Old Trafford before moving on to the Bernabéu, the champagne-colored kicks became an instant classic upon their debut thanks to their cream-colored upper, stitched-in Predator tech, distinctive asymmetrical lacing, and bold red tongue. Here, the 2017 re-release is faithful to the original, but now employs a modern outsole with Sprintframe construction for lightweight support and balance. Best of all, though? adi has crafted a matching take on the PureControl UltraBOOST to coincide with the release, not to mention corresponding iterations of the ACE 17+ PureControl and Copa for the pitch.
The full “Champagne” pack is set to hit select adidas spots and adidas.com this Wednesday, May 3, in limited quantities.
After releasing the UltraBOOST ATR Mid in a fiery red colorway, adidas tones things down for the upcoming fall season. The latest rendition of the silhouette, which was introduced to us late last year, sees tonal light brown hues throughout the sneaker, along with matching laces. The Primeknit upper embraces a speckled design, along with functional details including a tan pull tab and stabilizer along the heel. Complete with a full-length BOOST sole in crisp white, these sneakers are estimated hit shelves at select retailers in the fall. Take a closer look above and be sure to check back for more details on an official release date.
