STYLE: David Yurman’s Shipwreck Jewelry Collection Recreates the Wear of the Ocean
NYC-based luxury jewelry brand David Yurman unveils its Shipwreck Collection for Fall/Winter 2017. Taking inspiration from British and Spanish merchant schooners, the Shipwreck Collection comes from various historical shipwrecks where treasures were unearthed from across the world. The collection features three variations: sterling silver, 22K gold and 22K gold with sapphire, emerald, and ruby gems.
The eroded nature was first captured by Yurman’s master model-makers where the team studied ancient coins and artifacts as inspiration and replicated how the metal gets pitted by salt water over time, thrashing about on the ocean floor. Afterward, they were tumbled to a worn finish. An oxidation/patina process was also meticulously applied to each sterling silver piece. The finished collection include: the 22K gold single sapphire stone Band Ring, 22K gold Coin Band Ring which is also available in sterling silver, and the Band Ring and Cuff in sterling silver.
Check out the video above for a closer look at the Shipwreck Collection and purchase your favorite pieces on David Yurman’s online shop for $395 to $2,300 USD.
FRESH KICKS: Balenciaga’s Cream Colored Triple S Trainer Leads a Loaded Week of Releases
@SNEAKERPROPHET_
Once upon a time, long before the hype pervaded popular culture, the major sneaker brands would typically deliver one, maybe two coveted releases a month, with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Nowadays, it’s commonplace to see these different labels ditch the ‘who, what, where, when and how,’ and instead drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. A welcomed dilemma for most.
With that said, we continue our weekly roundup of the most sought after silhouettes for the week, hoping to make your ‘cop or drop’ decision as easy as possible. Check out the list below and chime in on the styles you’ll be picking up.
Release Price: approximately $745 USD, available via END and select Balenciaga retailers

For the latest Air Vapormax, Nike adds a new “Crimson” iteration into the fold. Here, the model’s black base features speckles of gold and crimson, while the popular sole unit complements its upper. RIDES: BMW 7 SERIES / MERCEDES-AMG
All-black everything and “murdered out” styles aren’t just for the fashion world; with BMW‘s latest creation, the German luxury automaker has produced one of the sleekest darker-toned rides of the year.
Following last month’s unveiling of the M8 GTE Le Mans, BMW introduces the Black Ice Edition of the iconic 7 Series. Exclusive to the Russian automobile market, the BMW 7 Series Black Ice Edition is tailored towards those trying to stunt in the Moscow streets. Regarding specific features, this blacked-out beast is outfitted with the M Sport package and a set of V-spoke alloy wheels. Along with a complete aero kit, a glossy black trim serves to strengthen the Black Ice style. Concerning the interior, black leather collides with piano lacquer trim and a dark grey Alcantara headliner to compliment the exterior aesthetic.
You can take a look at the BMW 7 Series Black Ice Edition above, while Russian consumers can purchase the vehicle via a special order system. For all those bored billionaires and millionaires who don’t have a residence in Russia and feel left out, consider this “Black Badge” Rolls-Royce Dawn or the King Fisher Blue Bentley Mulsanne.
As part of the first wave of phasing out the auto manufacturer’s beloved G65 crossover model, Mercedes-AMG has released images of the G65 Final Edition. With a number of variants released during its four-decade tenure, the G65’s curtain call is built with a twin-turbo V12 engine that allows the vehicle to put out 630 horsepower and pull 738-pound-feet of torque. In addition to this, the G65 Final Edition is constructed with a handful of bronze accents around the front bumper to go hand-in-hand with the vehicle’s black finish. On the inside, the black Nappa leather used for the seats is held together with brown stitching. The bronze accents from the outside find their way into the vehicle as well, surrounding the carbon fiber trim.
With only 65 units being produced worldwide, the Mercedes-AMG G65 Final Edition is set to release sometime in 2018 for $368,000 USD. While you’re waiting on that, take a look at what else Mercedes has been up to with a look at Bruce Wayne’s AMG Vision Gran Turismo for the upcoming Justice League movie.

NEW MUSIC:
Aside from the usual releases, the music industry brought major headlines to the press this week. For one, news broke that Frank Ocean defeated his father’s $14.5 million dollar defamation lawsuit. Back in February, the singer’s father Calvin Cooksey, claimed Ocean “damaged his financial opportunities in film and music” after he shared a story that claims Cooksey used hate language towards a transgender waitress when Ocean was 6 years old. The week also saw Lil Uzi Vert cancel his joint-tour with Playboi Carti just a day after it was announced, citing that he needed to use the time to “focus.” Coincidentally, a day later NBA YoungBoy announced a collaborative project between himself and Uzi called Too Fast and even teased the tentative artwork for the project.
On the note of collaborations, photos of Travis Scott and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker in the studio surfaced earlier on in the week and set the internet ablaze to say the least. Meanwhile, Metro Boomin began trending himself after he called out the APG division of Atlantic Records for being “vultures.” The biggest surprise of the week though was Future & Young Thug’s unexpected joint-album release, SUPER SLIMEY. You can stream that below, along with the rest of our picks for best new releases of the week.
