JEEPS: BENZ / SCOUT ll

RM Sotheby's Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² Automobile Vehicle
RM Sotheby’s announced its auction for a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4². While fans are still hyped up from the German automaker’s all new G-Class revealed last month, this G-wagon is supreme. As if its color — Alien Green — wasn’t unique enough, the 4×4² uses gear from the G63 AMG 6×6 and boasts a twin-turbo aluminum block V-8 producing 416 bhp. The G-ride is capable of clearing nearly two feet with an easily adjustable suspension. The practically new automobile has less than 3,500 miles on the clock and was delivered from a private owner in Italy.

Be sure to keep your eye out for this auction happening in Paris on February 7. The hybrid G-wagon is expected to go for approximately $224,000 USD – $249,000 USD.

2019 Mercedes Benz G Class Night Package
After unveiling a slew of new updates for the 2019 G-Class, Mercedes-Benz has revealed plans for the vehicle’s Night Package.

Tailored towards fans of the “blacked out” look, the Mercedes G-Class Night Package comes with darker-tinted lights and windows, black trim on the grille, black-accented 20” AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels, heat-insulating glass, chrome trim, obsidian black elements, and more sporty features. The Night Package option can only be used with bright-colored AMG models, and more customization packages for the new G-Class are expected. While the classic “murdered out” look can’t be achieved with the G-Class’s current Night Package, stay tuned for more new options.

Originally produced by International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Scout series competed with the likes of Jeep, Land Rover, and Ford back in its day. The Scout II was the successor to the Travelall — a post-war consumer automobile designed in the early 1950s and served as a precursor for the future category of sport-utility vehicles.

The custom Scout II seen in the gallery above, is set to hit the RM Sotheby’s Auction in Arizona later this month. The vehicle has received a slightly aggressive makeover, covered in a rich military-green coat. The SUV combines it’s military heritage with the vintage two-tone vibes from the ’70s. Sitting under the hood is a Vortec L96,  GM’s 6.0-liter V8 crate engine which boasts 360 horsepower and 380 feet of torque. Check out the full gallery above to see what car collectors expect will go for anywhere between $70,000 – $90,000 USD on January 18th or 19th.
