HIP HOP NEWS:
News has emerged that Florida rapper Kodak Black has been released from Broward County Prison. The artist was originally facing seven felony charges (which could have amounted to 12 years in prison) after an Instagram-Live video revealed Kodak Black in the proximity of a firearm, marijuana, all while in the presence of a child. Eventually, five of the seven charges were dropped, and Kodak’s sentence was reduced to 364 days in jail.
Taking the time to make the best out of his experience in prison, Kodak has since earned his GED diploma and changed his name to Bill K. Kapri, in an attempt to start afresh. It is not clear when the artist will begin to record music again, but fans remain excited to have him back in the outside world.
Juelz Santana has pleaded guilty for attempting to bring a gun on a flight back in March at Newark Liberty International Airport and could be facing 20-years in prison. When security discovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun in his bag, Santana fled the scene and went into hiding before turning himself in several days later.
He’s been charged with possession of a firearm and carrying a weapon on an aircraft. Since the beginning of this case, Santana has been forced to live with his mother to serve a “modified” house arrest while he’s toured with Dipset. He’s even been forced to go through anger management classes. Santana will be back in court December 12 for sentencing.

With Chinese Valentine’s Day fast approaching, Nike now gets into the festive spirit by debuting a special-edition duo of the Classic Cortez Nylon silhouette. Also known as Qixi Festival, the traditional holiday is celebrated every year on the seventh day during the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
The festival is originated from the famous myth of the weaver girl (Zhinu) and the cowherd (Niulang), whose love was forbidden and were separated from each other to the opposite sides of the Milky Way. It’s believed that the lovers are reunited for a day once a year on Qixi.
As an ode to the romantic legend, the release features two pairs of matching sneakers designed with details that complement one another. The peachy pink and the dark blue colorways, for instance, are inspired by the idea of dusk until dawn, hinting at the short period of time when the weaver girl and the cowherd are allowed to meet. On the sky-like, ombrĂ© uppers, we see graphics of stars representing the universe, while on the heel tab are glow-in-the-dark prints of the constellations Vega (Zhinu Star) and Altai (Niulang Star). Another finishing detail is the “Today Is The Day” slogan motif, which can be found on the tongue labels as well as on the outsoles of the shoes.
Slated to launch on August 17, the Nike Classic Cortez “QIXI” pack will be exclusively available in China via the SNKRS app and at select Swoosh retailers. Each pair prices out at ¥699 CNY (approximately $102 USD

MAGS: Nicki Minaj Lands Her First-Ever 'Vogue' Magazine Cover / 'Interview Magazine' Is Relaunching Next Month
Following up on her latest studio album, Queen, Nicki Minaj graces the prestigious September issue cover of Vogue Arabia. This marks the first time she has been featured as a cover star of a Vogue publication. The glossy features the New York-bred rapper in an array of high fashion looks. Unsurprisingly, Queen has risen the charts worldwide and reached number one status in over 85 countries – a testament to how hungry her stans were for new music.
This September cover is a high-note for the artist who has an upcoming performance during the 2018 MTV VMAs. Nicki dons two different all-black looks styled by Anna Katsanis and shot by Emma Summerton. One outfit includes a stunning gown by Christian Siriano and a pair of black pumps by Alexander Wang.
After announcing it was folding earlier this year, Interview Magazine is now set to relaunch with a September issue. The comeback issue is set to feature model Hari Nef on its cover, and will reportedly be shot by legendary duo Inez and Vinoodh.
The relaunch is poised to take place after the Andy Warhol-founded magazine’s current owner, Peter Brant, sells the publication to Singleton, a company also owned entirely by Peter Brant. This move follows the liquidation of the magazine, and means that Interview will be able to relaunch without having to pay any of its debts — believed to be over $3 million USD — to partners, freelancers and staff. The September issue hinges on this deal being tied up by August 31, although it could be delayed by legal action from Fabien Baron, the former editorial director who is believed to be owed $600,000 USD.

FASHION: Street Style at Oslo Runway SS19 Was All About the Prints
The Nordic countries are perhaps best known for their laid-back and ultra-minimal approach to street style, with a particular focus on innovative cuts and high-quality fabrics. Whilst this sentiment rang true during Oslo Runway Spring/Summer 19, the Norwegian capital also surprised us with the amount of vibrant, clashing patterns we spotted attendees in throughout the shows and presentations.
Wide silhouettes were key, with oversized jackets and wide-leg pants remaining a popular look, however alongside the typically neutral Scandinavian color palette, patterned styles in patchwork, leopard and checkered prints alongside graphic finishes caught our eye. When it came to accessories, classic designer bags by the likes of Louis Vuitton, Jacquemus’ teeny-tiny bag and the Dior Saddle bag that’s been on the arm of every it-girl were matched by kitsch, inflatable ’90s-style bags and pieces by homegrown brand Cala Jade. Looks that have been a strong trend throughout the past few months, like bucket hats and mini, matrix-inspired sunglasses were still going strong, as were chunky sneakers like platform Buffalos, adidas’ Yung 1 and of course, Balenciaga’s Triple-S.
