When Aleali May‘s inaugural Air Jordan 1 collaboration was first revealed in 2017, the female sneakerhead community rejoiced at the move for further diversity when it comes to footwear options made beyond the typical men’s sizing range. Thanks to the partnership’s success, Jordan Brand once again taps the streetwear it-girl for another collaborative release.
This time around, May’s subdued black and silver palette takes a complete 180-degree turn with an ostentatious rendition of the iconic sneaker. Not only is the sprawling coloration head-turning to say the least, (it features hues of Core Bordeaux, Sunset Tint, Rush Red and Light Armory Blue on its premium nubuck suede upper), but the trainer also highlights a removable section of multi-toned faux fur that is attached to the tongue. Rounding off the look is a stark white midsole that balances the wide-ranging splashes of color on the profile.
Although details are still sparse regarding an exact release date, Aleali May’s new Air Jordan 1 is slated to release some time in December 2018. The creps will retail for $160 USD.
As one of Nike‘s most iconic silhouettes, the Air Force 1 has been subject to many a rework. From its recent “Smokey Mauve” and “Mica Green” colorways, to a logo-stamped all-black arrival, there is surely no limit to how we can see this sneaker reimagined. For its latest iteration of the beloved crep, Swoosh no introduces an AF1 Jewel with chrome detailing.
Dipped in ”Yellow Ochre” for the premium nubuck suede upper, the body is largely tonal. However, the brand’s hallmark tick logo can be seen on the side panel in a glistening chrome-like finish. Rounding off the look is “AIR” branding on the heel, as well as a crisp white midsole finished with a translucent outsole.
You can shop the new Nike AF1 Jewel now at select stockists such as BSTN, where it retails for €129.99 EUR (approximately $152 USD).
Jordan Brand returns to reveal its women’s lineup for the Holiday 2018 season. The collection is filled with fall-centric silhouettes including luxe takes on the Air Jordan IV and a Flight Utility-inspired iteration of the AJ1. The newly crafted designs feature eye-catching detailing and are sure to be a hit this upcoming season.
First in the lineup is the AJ1 Utility Pack. These releases include the beloved trainer reimagined as four different models. This pack highlights the AJ1 High in “Beach/Black Ridgerock,” the AJ1 Rebel XX in “Parachute Beige/Black,” the AJ1 High Zip in “Olive/Black” and the AJ1 Jester XX in “Parachute Beige/Black.” The first pair comes with yellow and Sherpa fur detailing and has hits of yellow throughout, while the second pair is constructed with mostly leather and comes with detailing in the color “Sail.” The third pair, the AJ1 High Zip, features a bright green color, “Volt Glow” and mixes Sherpa alongside a white midsole. Last in the pack is the AJ1 Jester XX which comes with a boot-like design and is topped off by buck materials and stamped Swoosh branding.
Up next, we spot the Air Jordan 1 Rookie of the Year in “Gold Harvest/Black.” This selection pays homage to Michael Jordan’s iconic rookie season. Specs on this pair include detached collar flaps and a quote from his acceptance speech. Additional standout pairs in the collection are the AJ1 High in “Racer Blue” and AJ1 Rebel XX in “Concord.” The former is made with a soft buck upper, a metallic Wings logo and keeps the original 1985 design of the ultra-famous silhouette. While the latter is accentuated by patent leather and an ice blue sole.
Rounding out the range is the AJIV NRG in “Fire Red.” This model which is set to be a surefire hit is directly inspired by the holiday season. It features an all-over “Fire Red” upper and a contrasting gum outsole. The last pair in the lineup are the AJXI in “Olive Lux.” Detailing includes a soft green suede upper, a translucent gum outsole and metallic accents.
