Nike KD7 Aunt Pearl / The New Nike Huaraches
Unlike any other athlete signature shoe line, Kevin Durant‘s partnership with Nike has released sneaker colorways centered on telling the hoop star’s story on a deeper, personal level. An especially touching favorite has been the annual commemorative sneaker, dedicated to the memory of Kevin Durant’s Aunt Pearl, a woman he has recognized as playing an influential role in his life before her passing. The Nike KD7 “Aunt Pearl” features a monochrome white silhouette, finished with pink and gold accents. A mesh toebox, sporting an emphatic gold Nike Swoosh reveals the pink Flywire underneath. The angel wings across the middle set of shoe laces, which displays a tribute message to Aunt Pearl on its backside, coupled with the printed angel image on the inside of the shoe’s tongue, and a pink breast cancer symbol stitched onto the back heel tab, provide a nice touch to the aesthetically pleasing sneaker. Retailing for $170 USD, the Nike KD7 “Aunt Pearl” will be releasing February 19 at select Nike retailers, coupled with Nike’s online store.
