After Louis Vuitton’s artistic director Kim Jones gave everyone an unofficial sneak peek at the Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration, the Parisian fashion powerhouse took to the runway to show off its 2017 fall/winter collection today. Titled “Friends and heroes,” the collection draws its inspiration from the creative and diverse culture of New York City from the ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s. “It’s uptown and downtown…Artists and musicians, friends and heroes,” said Jones.
Working with Supreme for the first time — a historical achievement for a brand which started off as a local skate shop back on Lafayette Street in New York City in 1994 — LV has incorporated the now world famous Box Logo into its own world famous Monogram. The combination is as Louis Vuitton describes it, “a representation of the excellence of a New York street style and the Louis Vuitton’s French savoir-faire.”
Although the joint venture with Supreme is groundbreaking, LV also made waves by collaborating with itself for the first time. Various houses of expertise within the malletier joined forces to combine textile with leather as is the case with leathergoods finished off with Monogram canvas and Cuir Taurillon leather.
You can check out the full offering which includes woven denim, pajamas, jackets, trench coats, shirts, sneakers, bags, accessories and more above.
