Yohji Yamamoto‘s astute eye for design could never be questioned — he is a Japanese icon, already considered a legend in fashion by many, and continues to wow critics even at the age of 73. Yet, there is still more work to be done and more fans to please. The creative has carved a signature style that is beloved by those with discerning tastes and 2017 fall/winter is no exception.
Here we see an artful direction consisting of the familiar drapes and cuts the house is known for. The dark attitude is still there, but it’s once again peppered with pieces that exhibit colorful flair. There are psychedelic prints and artful camo patterns that finely contrasts the more muted garments in the range. Consequently, there’s something for all Yohji fans here, whether you like the usual sophisticated tailoring or the vibrant mix of creative colors and motifs.
