Rihanna‘s Savage X Fenty has announced its first celebrity Global Brand Ambassador, breakout star Normani. The platinum-selling artist performed at the Savage x Fenty show back in September and will appear in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign.
Normani’s bold music and formidable fashion sense embodies Savage X Fenty’s ethos, making her the “perfect choice,” Rihanna said in a statement. “She exudes confidence and power. Everything she does is executed with passion and the belief she’s going to kill it. That’s why people gravitate towards her,” she added.
Normani also expressed excitement at her new appointment. “The way [Rihanna] embraces her sexuality and exudes grace is such an inspiration to me and so many other women around the world,” she said.
FENTY by Rihanna has released its latest collection, City Bloom, a winter-ready range of outerwear, boots and separates.
Shot by Katsu Naito, the campaign showcases casual hoodies and leggings effortlessly paired with statement pieces such as ultra-oversized outerwear and calf-height boots made of puffer jacket material. A digitized rose floral print is featured on jersey mini-dresses and extra-long leggings in “Matcha” and “Iced Rose” colorways. Knit off-the-shoulder separates in black and cream hues are versatile and easily incorporated into any wardrobe, while a paneled “shaping” bustier dress adds sexier touch to the range. The campaign also features jewelry from Fenty’s Cameo collection styled alongside the new garments.
City Bloom by FENTY ranges from $240 to $3,660 USD and is available on the brand’s website now. The collection will also be sold at Selfridges starting November 25.
For the first time ever, Rihanna is set to release her very own autobiography with Phaidon – the premier global publisher of the creative arts with over 1,500 titles in print. You’ll now be able to discover the fashion and beauty mogul’s origins accompanied by intimate photographs capturing her life as a singer, designer, and entrepreneur.
Titled Rihanna, the large-format trade edition book has 504 pages including more than 1,000 photographs, 11 special inserts, a removable poster and seven gatefolds. The cover features an eye-catching color photograph of Rihanna and wrap-around cloth binding. “I am so excited to share this collection of incredible images. I’m very grateful to the talented photographers and artists who contributed. We’ve been working on the book for over five years and I’m really happy to be able to finally share it with everybody,” said Rihanna.
In addition to Rihanna, the publishing company and the Barbados singer have teamed up with The Haas Brothers on three limited editions of the book, each including a special bookstand. The Rihanna: Fenty x Phaidon edition features black and white photographs on the front and back along with a custom-designed tabletop bookstand inspired by Rihanna’s hands. The Rihanna: Luxury Supreme and Rihanna: Ultra Luxury Supreme have been incorporated with custom-made black fabric and one-of-a-kind stands for each of the special editions.
The Rihanna: Fenty x Phaidon and Rihanna: Luxury Supreme special edition sets are available for $175 USD and $5,500 USD respectively while the Rihanna: Ultra Luxury Supreme has already sold out.
Rihanna will be available in all Harvey Nichols stores in the UK and Ireland on October 19, but you can now pre-order the book for $150 USD through Phaidon’s website and Harvey Nichols’ website.
