Engineered Garments is back with its latest footwear offerings, following up its HOKA ONE ONE project, this time with a set of winter-ready mountain boots made in collaboration with Danner.
Coming in three rich colorways of brown, leopard and black, the silhouette is covered with a supple faux fur texture all-around its rugged build. The top of the boots sees leather padding along the tongue and collars, complemented by heel pulls along the backstay and eyelet hooks near the top. Securing round laces across the forefoot, the metal eyelets have been placed in a zig-zag arrangement for optimal ergonomic comfort, while the rest of the boots have been kept minimal. All of these details sit above a thick Vibram sole unit that’s been treaded for extra grip. Other details like the embossed “Danner for Engineered Garments” branding on the insole rounds up the footwear collaboration.
The Engineered Garments x Danner Mountain Trail Boots are currently available at nepenthes.shop-pro.jp for $523 USD.
Boston-based Bodega continues flexing its collaborative muscle with another strong footwear collaboration, following its recent New Balance 997S “NO BAD DAYS.” First spotted in the Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook, the boutique’s inaugural Clarks collaboration is a striking blend of graphic appeal and quality craftsmanship, with two patchwork silhouettes boldly elevating the timeless Wallabee silhouette.
Two distinctive makeups are on hand, with each of Bodega’s bespoke Wallabee chukkas boasting a collage of leather, nubuck and suede on the uppers, mixing an assortment of premium patchwork leather squares. Offered in blue and dark brown tones, the lavish silhouette sports tonal leather piping across the toe and rear, underlining the quality construction. Finally, to highlight the winterized nature of the design, Bodega opted for an ankle collar of neppy wool, adding both the promise of extra warmth and an additional hit of texture to the already-textile-rich shoes.
Expect Bodega to launch the highly limited quickstrike patchwork Wallabees on November 15 for $200 USD via the Bodega web store and its physical locations in Boston and Los Angeles.

Renowned Japanese architect and lecturer Kengo Kuma has teamed with ASICS for an unexampled take on a new Metaride AMU silhouette. Known for his mastery of layer, space and unconventional fabrication, Kuma has brought his signature vivid-yet-delicate ethos to the forefront of his first-ever footwear collaboration, building an environmentally-friendly Metaride design that takes cues from a traditional Japanese bamboo craft technique.
Although Kuma’s Metaride AMU is a running shoe in name, it’s nothing short of an architectural masterpiece in style. The upper is constructed of a white performance knit, which is richly overlaid by a multitude of crisscrossing white synthetic strips. As with any good design, there’s a purpose to go along with the engineered look: the overlays are strategically placed to hold the foot steady, working in harmony with the base layer to ensure a comfortable and supportive fit. Everything is secured by a toggle lacing system, and the strips cleverly form an ASICS graphic on the midfoot.
The innovations don’t stop at the top either, as the tan midsole is made of an ecologically-conscious wood-derived textile, keeping in line with Kuma’s penchant for subversive textiles (like his famed Stone Roof house). This midsole provides lightweight cushioning and support, as well as a bold contrast to the rest of the shoe’s stark white palette. Finally, a clean white outsole effortlessly balances the complex upper.
Kuma’s sophisticated ASICS Metaride AMU will release exclusively in Japan via ASICS’ website plus select retail locations in Harajuku and Osaka on December 20 for ¥36,000 JPY (approximately $330 USD).
These extra-hardy Nite Joggers are set to release this month at retailers like 43einhalb. The price is set at €160 EUR (approximately $176 USD).
