There are many luxurious SUVs on the market to choose from — the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Bentley Bentayga, and Lamborghini Urus to name just a few — and now there’s another for those who want something a little bit more special. Enter the Aznom Palladium, a Ram 1500-based sedan-cum-truck that’s coachbuilt in Italy and is limited to just 10 units.While the Ram 1500 may seem like an unlikely base for a luxurious crossover SUV, it in fact makes perfect sense. Many of these luxurious SUVs aren’t very well-versed in off-roading, and are much better suited to posing in cities. The Palladium, however, acts as a hyper-limousine that is, according to Aznom, “capable of traversing any terrain.”
At the front, Aznom offers something that’s very Rolls-Royce-esque thanks to its split grille, metal surround, and angled LED lights. A chrome stripe runs over the carbon fiber hood, leading the eye to the side profile where you’ll find a small “Horizon Window” on the rear-quarter alongside huge doors.
The Ram 1500’s presence is seen towards the rear. The flanks and wheel arches taper into a wide rear end complete with a polished metal plaque, twin-exit exhaust pipes, and a light bar, all while encompassing a new trunk hood that would be the 1500’s loading bed. Instead of there being a drop-down tailgate like you’d find on a pick-up truck, the Palladium features a mechanically retractable drawer that extends horizontally.
Inside, you’ll be surrounded in quilted leather, wood trims, aluminum accents, and plenty of technology, such as the new infotainment screen. However, it is clear to see that the inside is just a fancy, re-trimmed version of the 1500’s base, but the technology inside can now be used to control things including the interior lights, onboard refrigerator, and trunk, as well as the opening and closing of all drawers and compartments.
Other luxurious details include a Harman Kardon audio system, two Microsoft Surface Pro X tablets in the rear, and a handmade clock that incorporates gold and palladium. Lastly, a 5.7-liter V8 engine provides the Palladium with 700 HP and 701 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough to move the 2.65-tonne machine from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds.
Take a look at the Aznom Palladium above closely, because that might be as near as we’ll ever get to it. Aznom says only ten will be built, with each being fully customizable by the lucky clients.
