Parra "Yer So Bad" @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery
Parra makes his way to the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in the Big Apple for the introduction of his latest solo show. Dubbed “Yer So Bad,” the Dutch artist’s second exhibition at the gallery takes its name from Tom Petty’s Full Moon Fever track of the same name — a piece which tells the story of a girl who marries a yuppie and takes him for all he’s worth. Highlighted by a bevy of brand new works, the display showcases Parra’s signature post-pop aesthetic of freeform typography and hybrid figures, focusing on those completed on canvas and paper. Finally, in conjunction with the exhibition, a limited edition zine will be available for purchase at the gallery, as well as 195 Tenth Avenue’s Printed Matter, Inc.
“Yer So Bad” opens January 8 and will remain on display through February 7.
