The newly rechristened Maison Margiela has partnered with Barneys to offer two exclusive takes on the atelier’s Future High Top Sneaker. Retaining its signature oversized ankle strap and hidden lacing, the special edition sneakers come executed in crackled leather and are set to be offered in two tonal colorways: Ivory and Bordeaux. Expect both versions to be available soon for $940 USD per pair at select Barneys locations. Fans can also pre-order the shoes via www.barneys.com while shipments are currently set for the month of April.
Oliver Sweeney teams up with London’s cultural institute The School of Life for a slip-on they call “The Philosopher’s Shoe,” also simply referred to as the “Vita.” The footwear sports calf leather on the upper and the lining, a wingtip brogue pattern for a more ornate look, and a yellow heel pull tab that serves as a nod to The School of Life’s signature color. One notable detail is Greek philosopher Thales’ quote, “Head in the stars, feet on the ground,” embossed on the side of the white rubber sole, which basically plays off the collaboration’s inspired name, while lending the overall minimal design a little something extra..
Balenciaga has released a new rendition to its popular Arena sneaker. Dubbed the “Creased Leather,” the model boasts a creased leather upper in blue, complemented by blue laces and metal eyelets. A black rubber sole offer comfort and cushioning, and completes Balenciaga’s simple yet luxurious staple sneaker. The Arena is now available from MR PORTER for the retail price of $525 USD.
