The Air Jordan 1 KO Gets a Quilted Makeover
Having recently revealing the return of the “Banned” Air Jordan 1, the Jumpman will be making another comeback in KO form. This time around the Air Jordan 1 KO will receive a material change; a canvas upper is usually the material of choice for the silhouette, but this time around Jordan Brand will incorporate quilted material to the model’s upper. This Air Jordan 1 KO is coated with Pure Platinum and Metallic Silver throughout as its construction stays true to past makeups. You can expect this rendition of the Air Jordan 1 KO to release on July 30 for $140 USD at select Jordan Brand retailers.
adidas' Tubular Nova Primeknit Goes "Triple White"
Triple White will be making its way onto another Three Striped silhouette. This time around, the adidas Tubular Nova Primeknit plays the canvas to the ultra-clean colorway. Its sock like uppers are encased in a simple lacing cage, similar to that of the popular Ultra Boost model but with an elastic heel counter as a complement. Rising to a mid-level in comparison to a traditional low cut option, this edition rests atop an immaculately white Tubular outsole.
It’s currently available at select adidas retailers such as Oneness for $140 USD.
adidas Officially Unveils the D Rose 7 Silhouette
As Derrick Rose plans to revive an unfortunately injury-plagued career as a new member of the New York Knicks, adidas has outfitted the once explosive point guard with a silhouette to complement his journey and perseverance. The new adidas D Rose 7 gains its inspiration from the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Its theme revolves around the city’s spirit to rebuild and Rose can relate as he embarks on a new chapter in The City That Never Sleeps.
The adidas D Rose 7 features full-length Boost technology while hosting a flexible Primeknit upper. You’ll also find reliable support via its split-heel cage, which is also attached to a mid-foot lacing panel.
Its “Solar Red” colorway will kick things off on August 11 for a price of $160 USD at select adidas retailers. Additional colorways will release throughout the season such as “Smoke Grey” on August 13, “Hydration” on September 16, Black/White/Red on October 1 and White/Black/Red on October 15.
Jordan Brand Officially Unleashes the Air Jordan XXXI "Banned"
It’s pretty evident that Michael Jordan’s legacy will forever be embedded within the game of basketball. The GOAT also has a strong hand in the world of footwear as well. While 30 signature silhouettes strong with countless amounts of retro releases, Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the upcoming Air Jordan XXXI model. Taking inspiration from Michael Jordan’s inaugural silhouette which would unforgettably face a $5,000 USD fine each time he would wear them on court due to uniform policies within the NBA, the Air Jordan XXXI revisits a legendary time for the Swoosh and the early stages of MJ’s career.
The Air Jordan XXXI hosts a Flyweave upper which transitions into premium leather from toe to heel as a display of off-court sensibility and on-court performance. Tailored for athletes such as Russell Westbrook, its low-profiled cushioning provides a floor feel via its low-to-the-ground sole units, Flight Speed Technology and full length Zoom Air unit.
The Air Jordan XXXI “Banned” will officially release globally on September 3 for a retail price of $185 USD at select retailers as well as online.
Jordan Brand Officially Unveils This Year's Air Jordan 1 "Banned" Retro
If the Air Jordan XXX1 “Banned” didn’t exactly strike your fancy upon its unveiling in Las Vegas yesterday, fear not: the OG inspiration behind the kicks is indeed making a comeback later this summer as Jordan Brand used the debut of the XXX1 to take the wraps off of this year’s retro of the infamous “Banned” Air Jordan 1. Originally teased on social media via promos with both Russell Westbrook and His Airness himself, the 2016 retro of the “Bred” look stays true to the 1985 original, adopting a leather build and iconic black and red colorway while ditching the tonal “X” that decorated the heel of 2011′s drop. Perhaps best of all for the purists, since the kicks come in the form of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, the Nike Air branding remains intact on the tongue.
Sadly, these will cost you a bit more than their mid-’80s MSRP of $65 USD, but, nonetheless, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Banned” will be welcomed with open arms when it hits shelves September 3. And you don’t have to worry about incurring a $5,000 USD fine and the league’s wrath when you rock ‘em.
UNITED ARROWS & SONS Puts Its Spin on the Converse Pro Leather
Japanese stalwart UNITED ARROWS & SONS is no stranger to Converse. Just last year the two came together for a pack of special edition Chucks under the BEAUTY & YOUTH imprint while 2014 saw Converse help B&Y celebrate its 25th anniversary with monochromatic high- and low-tops. And, as this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Pro Leather, the two are back at it, this time to release a special edition of the iconic four decades-old high-top.
Here, the kicks are highlighted by a clean pink suede upper and one that extends the hue to the cotton laces and branding for a monochromatic look. Inside, premium brown leather lines the model while co-branded gold foil stamps hit the insoles. Finally, a white rubber sole unit provides the finishing touch.
The UNITED ARROWS & SONS x Converse Pro Leather drops in stores and online this Friday, July 22 for ¥19,440 JPY (approximately $183 USD). And, in the meantime, be sure to check out the goofy video of Poggy rocking the kicks below.
