This past April, fledgling Japanese designer Miyamoto Kenta—who is the assistant to Daiki Suzuki of Engineered Garments—founded a new workwear imprint called AïE (Arts in Education). Now, the utilitarian label has unveiled its debut collection for the 2017 fall/winter season. The inaugural range takes inspiration from British and New York subcultures, spanning outerwear, soft goods, and bottoms emblazoned with exotic motifs. Standout items include hooded patchwork jackets, an elongated velour overshirt, an oversized utility vest draped in tonal grey, and frayed trousers boasting leopard and zebra patterns.
Take a look at AïE’s first collection above and look out for an official release in the coming weeks exclusively at NEPENTHES.

After celebrating the 20th anniversary of its MR-G model last year, G-SHOCK has unveiled a new model of its signature MR-G model made in collaboration with renowned artist Michael Lau. The watch’s exterior is crafted of a high-quality metal and is finished with the traditional Japanese Kasumi-Tsuchime technique, a style of craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation for the past 1,200 years. The metal finish is complemented by trims of blue around the watch’s face, which is a shout out to the Japanese crafting and is applied with a blue DLC coating. The watch’s entire face is protected by a sapphire crystal plane coated with a non-reflective film. The new model of the MR-G is just as beautiful on the inside as it is outside, with a built-in Bluetooth-equipped GPS Hybrid Wave Receptor that allows for accurate time keeping anywhere in the world.
Only 500 pieces of the Kasumi-Tsuchime model of the G-SHOCK MR-G will be available worldwide and will sell for $60,000 HKD (about $7,700 USD).
