G-SHOCK has prepped a limited edition watch that may put all of its other recent special edition timepieces to shame. Crafted from solid gold, down to the hardware, the G-D5000-9JR will be an extremely limited affair, with only two of the 35 total pieces available in America.
Described internally at parent company Casio as a dream project, G-SHOCK initially introduced the watch back in December 2018 as an Asia-only offering. Now, the $70,000 USD watch will see a partial global release.
Explaining how the pristine watch upholds G-SHOCK’s reputation for toughness, legendary watch designer Kikuo Ibe noted, “It took five years for our dream project to achieve an ideal impact-resistant structure for gold, which is delicate yet 1.5 times heavier than stainless steel. We succeeded by refusing to compromise.”
What results is a jaw-dropping exercise in opulence, with a case, bezel, bracelet and even screws crafted from 18k gold. Standard G-SHOCK functionality comes standard, including a stopwatch feature, auto calendar, world time, LED backlight and the brand’s signature durability, including 200-meter water resistance — just in case the $70,000 USD watch’s owner decides to wear it while diving.
Take a closer look at the precious timepiece on G-SHOCK’s website. Interested parties are now able to enter a raffle to buy one of the two G-D5000-9JR via the American retailers below, with a pair of winners to be selected in June.
Elsewhere, G-SHOCK joined BEAMS for two see-through “Skeleton” watches.

Luxury Italian watch manufacturer Panerai has unveiled its latest masterful timepiece, the Lo Scienziato Luminor Tourbillon GMT PAM00768. The new immaculate watch features a P.20005/T movement system alongside a six-day power reserve. The dial itself features minute and second hands as well as day and night indicators, finalizing the dial’s mechanics with the watchmaker’s in-house tourbillon escapement.
The overall movement of the internal workings, which can be seen via the hollow casing, showcases the complex inner-workings that prioritizes itself on strong architectural design. The 47mm diameter body was built via a technique known as direct metal laser sintering, allowing for a luxurious final look. The fiberglass lasering method allowed for Panerai to superimpose five levels of titanium metal powder, layer by layer, which harden throughout the process. This allows for the material to be roughly 40% lighter than if using traditional titanium.
You can check out Panerai’s latest Lo Scienziato Luminor Tourbillon GMT PAM00768 in the gallery above. There will reportedly only be 150 pieces made available with a retail price set at approximately $140,000 USD.
Following on from the launch of its premium GRAVITYMASTER watch, G-SHOCK has debuted a new signature model for pro-surfer Kanao Igarashi. Continuing G-SHOCK’s G-LIDE selection of extreme sports-ready models, the new GLX-5600KI is shock-resistant and also features a tide graph for surfers.
Other features of the watch include a semi-translucent body inspired by the ocean, a mirror-finish face, and Igarashi’s “Kanao” signature on the watch face, strap keeper and case back. Igarashi’s signature also comes up in illumination when the watch’s backlight is turned on.
Currently there’s no confirmed release date for the GLX-5600KI, but expect the limited-edition model to hit the G-SHOCK web store and physical locations in the near future.
Since releasing a pair of sneakers tinted in a sky-blue colorway last week, Maison Margiela has returned for a concise series of duo-toned jewelry.
This time around, the French atelier serves up a slew of bracelets and rings. Made in Italy, palettes of silver, black and blue are applied over silhouettes like curb-link chains, twisted bangles and a signet ring. One standout piece is the Silver & Black Chain-Link Bracelet, constructed in a muted silver finish on one half, while black coating appears on the other. A thin plate is added to the front of the bracelet. Its back is engraved with the label’s arithmetic logo with the number “11” circled, denoting its accessories line. Another iteration of the chain link takes shape in ring form which also comes in blue.
The Silver & Blue Twist Bracelet is detailed in antiqued sterling silver with a distinctive curve at the middle section — solid blue and silver tones are shown on their respective sides. Other pieces like its blacked out ring version and a monochromatic signet ring round up the selections.
The lineup of Maison Margiela jewelry is currently available on SSENSE’s website ranging from $450 – $965 USD.

OMEGA has just dropped a new collaborative limited edition alongside Casamigos Tequila and Mezcal, a tequila company founded by George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. Together, they created the new Seamaster Planet Ocean “Deep Black” Casamigos, a combination of a GMT model and dive watch in a sleek and stylish all black colorway with hints of teal reminiscent of Casamigos’ branding.

The dial itself is also made from matte black ceramic, with teal highlights coming in the form of “Seamaster” and “GMT.” Dashes of teal also appear on the seconds hand for an extra subtle nod at to the brand’s heritage. On the back, the watch features a sapphire crystal caseback specially treated to once again resemble the dark glass bottle of the Casamigos Mezcal. On it, there’s a lacquered Casamigos logo along with the limited edition number. Of course, as a dive watch, it’s water resistant up to 600 meters. It also comes equipped with a black rubber strap with black stitching for additional detailing.
The new OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean “Deep Black” Casamigos is exclusive to OMEGA boutiques in the US, coming at a retail price of $11,600 USD before tax. The model is limited to only 80 units, so act fast if you’re interested.
