Hong Kong’s MADNESS continues its string of strong collaborations, following its painted UltraBOOST sneaker and 50/50 Converse Chuck Taylor with a potent array of elevated Timberland shoes. Executed in muted army tones and plush suede, the revamped boots and shoes all sport hefty Vibram soles for maximum winter traction.
Encompassing tall boots, chukkas and boat shoes, the collection is divided into two releases: “Limited” and “Mainline.” Though both are only available in small quantities, the Limited boots, with darker hues and black outsoles, will be even harder to come by. Regardless, the shoes all boast hairy suede uppers, executed in dark navy and earthy beige with black accents, with GORE-TEX linings to keeping the wearer’s foot dry. Most Mainline shoes sport white outsoles with raw leather welts, with small “BY MDNS” tags distinguishing the shoes from the “MADNESS”-branded Limited footwear.
The collaboration drops via MADNESS’s web store and Hong Kong outpost on January 19 before hitting Timberland’s Hong Kong stores the next day. Take a closer look at the “ALTERATION” range below, with the Limited styles followed by the Mainline offerings.
After a black take on the silhouette emerged via Berlin’s Voo Store back in October, JW Anderson and Converse have now given an up-close look at their Run Star Hike sneaker in white. The Spring/Summer 2019 collaborative shoe features an upper taken from a Chuck Taylor All Star, which sits atop a chunky white midsole and a jagged blue and gum rubber tread.
The latest collaboration between Converse and JW Anderson is poised to drop this month, with the Run Star Hike in white releasing exclusively via the JW Anderson web store on January 16. The sneaker will be priced at £120 GBP (approx. $155 USD).
Following up on a line of distressed Retro Fit sneakers unveiled for FW18, Maison Margiela Creative Director John Galliano keeps the “undone” look with the French house’s latest round of the silhouettes. Comprised using ovine leather, the high-tops feature a mix of overlaying calfskin and suede panels throughout the upper, dyed to provide a worn-in look. The toebox encompasses a round design with a raw edge, while the midsoles feature an angled composition correlating with the overall chunky sole theme.
