Despite the Three Stripes revealing the updated adidas UltraBOOST ‘19, its predecessors are still hitting retail shelves, including this simplified colorway for the 4.0. A white Primeknit upper and lacing cage sit atop a blacked-out BOOST midsole that’s matched by a Continental rubber outsole. Furthermore, a black heel counter helps ease the transition from white to black.
This adidas UltraBOOST will retail for $180 USD at select adidas stockists and adidas.com in the coming weeks
Similar to the Nike Kyrie 5 we took a look at earlier in the month, Nike’s “Just Do It” theme is making its way onto Kevin Durant‘s eleventh signature sneakers. The KD11’s Flyknit-boasting upper is treated in black with red and blue speckles with its soft React Foam outsole following suit. The 3D-like theme continues with small stacked Swoosh logos on each lateral side, mirroring the aforementioned speckles. Lastly, the medial side’s heel complements the mini Swooshes with a Nike Air stamp that’s joined by a branded tab to match.
The Nike KD11 “Just Do It” hits select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com on February 1 for $150 USD.
New Nike Air Max 97 silhouettes have been flooding in since the start of 2019, and this time we get a look at the shipping-inspired “Unboxed” colorway.
To pay homage to the cardboard boxes used to ship sneakers, this AM97 model is dressed in various tones of browns on its wave-pattern upper, while a barcode placed on the outsole adds a final nod to the packages being scanned before shipping. The barcode motif then carries over to the right heel tab, while stripped tongues symbolizes the tape Nike uses for online orders. Located on the insole is a stamp of Nike‘s box certification from its Memphis factory.
Interested fans can purchase the Nike Air Max 97 “Unboxed” starting Friday, January 18 at select Nike retailers, Nike.com and the SNKRS app for a retail price of $160 USD.
Satisfying the fans’ cravings for OG sneakers, adidas Originals reissues Patrick Ewing‘s Knicks-themed Rivalry Hi and a subtler black and white version.
The sportswear label opts for a retro white to dress the upper of the basketball silhouette. A warm blue hue coats the lining and the rubber welt, while a vibrant orange outlines the Three Stripes motif as well as the basketball tag-ornamented tongue tab. As for the monochromatic colorway, white elements spread throughout this iteration stand out on the contrasting, inky black upper. Both pairs are detailed with exposed stitchings running around the feet to right above the chunky outsole.
The adidas Originals Rivalry Hi “Knicks” and “Black/White” will be available on the brand’s website and at select retailers. Stay tuned for more details of the official drop date.
Picking up the deconstructed footwear series it started last year, Vans recently put together a branding-focused reworked take on the Sk8-Hi.
Dubbed the VANSCII Sk8-Hi, the shoe is inspired by ASCII programming language, and has motifs related to early computer culture. The upper features a black nubuck base that’s accented by a grey grid pattern and white contrast stitching. Decoration comes in the form of stacked Vans Jazz Stripes, choice computer hourglass embroidery and a bright neon “VANS OFFF THE WALL” tongue patch. Rounding up the design of the shoe is a classic white midsole accented by tacked on stripes of gum rubber for a haphazardly reinforced look.
Priced at $75 USD, Vans’s VANSCII Sk8-Hi is available now at vans.com.
